Note also that it was the Noldor (Vols) that, with the help of the Valar, overcame Morgoth (Saban) in the war of Wrath and caused him to be cast forever into the void where he could no longer corrupt the hearts of men and thus the Curse of Mandos (aka Curse of Fulmer) was removed from the faithful and a New Age dawned!

As someone who works for a DOE contractor, I can say it probably cost $2.5 million to make so they're going to get their money's worth.
