I’d be curious the number of 5 stars we’ve had on the roster each year for the past 20 years. If I didn’t have a 3 year old and a pregnant wife, I’d try to research that

Butch had 125 5* hearts!

But yeah this roster isn’t perfect but it’s the best we’ve seen here since Fulmer!

I think it’s fair to say we could have the best OL as is. Think of all the guys competing for the LG spot. Some of the OTs could probably play inside and I’m sure Elarbee will want his best 5 out there. Just need Karic, Lampley, Davis, Lang, Umarov, Grant, Reddick, or Bussell to have a great offseason.

All this assumes Spraggins returns. Which I haven’t seen confirmed anywhere.

I don’t know. I watched Iowa rush and sack Nico so many times. Of course he caused some of his problems by holding the ball and not finding his secondary targets. We seemed to run block pretty well though. Hopefully another year and the new guys will improve pass blocking. Of course the QB has to help out.

@vol_in_ga ..why did you say this? This cat is a 5* also...that was good enough to actually play a lot as a TF on the LSU OL...I don't see much difference, so why shouldn't he get Seaton money? It looks like an even better investment to me

Not wanting to argue just curious...I purposefully stayed out of here because I didn't want to get pumped up about it until it was a done deal.

It was largely an uninformed opinion based on how coveted seaton was and had less to do with who heard was. He very well might get that much. At the time all I knew about him was that he was a backup offensive lineman.

We also scored more points than Iowa had scored on them all year with a first-time starter under center.

At my count we have about 45 five and four stars combined on our roster next year. Around 10 more blue chippers than last seasons 16th ranked roster. Not to mention we have a ton of 3 stars that weren't ranked properly. I think we will easily have a top 10 roster going into next season. At least we will be on the plus side of the blue chip ratio.

Dude Iowa has been putting plenty of defensive players in the NFL lately. They held national champion Michigan to 2 total TDs and 4 FGs despite the Iowa offense providing zero help.

Looks like some folks took offense to this post haha. Not trying to pile on just want to point out that only 1 OL in that game will be playing the same position for us next year and that’s Cooper Mays.
