They had to break in a new QB and lost Bo Pellini. They will be better this year.

Also, the Mustang package just means that there are extra DB's on the field. What you are implying, which is wrong, is that it is a prevent defense, which it is not.

Maybe not, but it sure as heck felt like one at times...

Whatever it is, it gives up 6 about 75% of the time. thats all the info i need.

I wasn't implying anything. I know the Mustang isn't a prevent defense. I also know that over the past few years it was torn apart for short passes of between 4-8 yards.

I wouldnt say thats the complete reason. I know Chris Leak hasnt done anything in the NFL, but he did win a national title and hes only 5'10. Heck, Doug Flutie was only like 5'8 i believe.

Maybe they saw something in Boyd that they didnt like. Just because some folks thought he was "all that" doesnt make it so.

He was lighting the defense up in the Army AA game...hard to see what CLK didn't like about that kind of production...but CLK had already done the deed by then.
