I agree with that statement. We have to pressure Driskell, but we also can't lose containment of him. He has a good arm, and if not pressured he is accurate. If pressured, not so much. If we don't contain him he can also hurt us with his legs.
I agree about Hurd. I actually believe Hurd will need a 100 yd rushing game for us to win. Our passing game will be a key component, but balance on offense will be they key against another good front 7.
We are going to do all of those things, because this team has proven that's what it does consistently. This Vol's team is the best coached, best executing, and has the best overall team speed we've had in at least a decade.
The Vols will win this one if we just don't beat ourselves. If we don't have turnovers, or penalties in critical situations, and we don't give up any big plays with busted assignments; we will win this game going away.
If we have the same kind of miscues in critical situations that we've had the last 2 games, then this one will be a nail biter.
This is a young, but battle hardened team, with a coaching edge that clearly stands out on film. We have proven we have the team speed, and proper pursuit angels to limit the number of and severity of big plays. I don't expect to see many of the same assignment mistakes that we saw last weekend against UGA.
UF's strength is purely their talent. Their defense is big and physical, but they play reckless football consistently so this also a weakness. This weakness was exposed almost all of last year getting worse down the stretch, and then again against Bama this year. This style of play does produce turnovers, so I expect to see a few of those, but it also opens up windows of opportunity that I trust our coaches to capitalize on; i.e over pursuit, jumping routes, poor lane assignments, and slow communication from the side line. Muschamp took a very talented roster last year, and blew it. UF has some major areas of concern, and the Bama game this year is proof of that. Yes, yes, Bama is talented, but not that much more talented than UF. There is program altering brewing down in Gainesville folks.
UT's strength is that it is a better all around team. I believe we have a coaching advantage against most team's we will line up against this year. We have a mature QB, who is a true leader, and a good decision maker. Our defense has proven to be a solid bend, but don't break group of great athletes. We have the best group of receivers, if you consider the depth of our contributing players who can make stellar catches, that I have ever watched at UT (I've been watching UT play for over 35 years). Notice, I said deepest group, not the best individuals. I actually think our O-line is going to be one of this teams strength going down the stretch. Their film break down just keeps getting and better from week to week.
I expect a close game if UT plays it's worst. I expect a walking away win if we limit our miscues. That's my 2 pennies worth. Have a great day, and Go Vols!!
