I can’t celebrate this with the schedule we have ahead of us lol
Yep and this magic act travels. Can easily have encore disappearing acts at anytime, and the schedule has an ample number of teams capable of taking advantage if it happens. Miles to go.

Not now. This team is not good on the road. UT will end up a 3 seed. We will expect a 2 seed and end up with a 3 seed.

Not any more. Ishat our players play as our starters play. If one a not make a shot, none can make a shot. If one has rebounding problems, all have rebounding problems. On the other hand, when one hits a couple of shots, they all shoot well but no one really played well tonight, even though they only out scored us by 2 in the second half. Our defense, especially in the first half, could not defend anyone. They didn't fight through screens and were a step behind their offensive players. As the old tiers say, there will always be days like this.

Guys I understand last night sucked but it’s college basketball, games like that happen. UNC lost to the worst team in the ACC then lost to a bubble team at home. We’re fine. Just go 4-0 in this stretch and 2-2/3-1 in the last 4. That would lock up a 2 seed and we could play ourselves into that final 1 with a good showing in the SECT

The selection committee showed they care very little about the conference tournaments. We won the tournament and beat Kentucky 2 out of 3 times a couple years ago, yet gave Kentucky a 2 seed and Tennessee a 3. Tell me how we were ranked 5th in the country 7th in NET that season but didn’t get a 2 seed. None of it makes sense.

I don't think the SECT moves the needle at all. We won it 2 years ago and it meant jack squat.

Yep, a lot of ppl put a big emphasis on 1 loss, I understand that may be the only team (UT)they follow closely and the rest of their news comes from looking at the polls and talking heads. This game was disappointing but like you said , not only UNC, but Kansas, Houston have put up some bad games. This game was very disappointing but A&M was picked pre-season champs by some and after a bad start to season they are starting to play a lot better and have a good motivating coach.

It’s actually both.
Yep, it is both but you can get a lower seed like we did with Cuonzo's last team but when Mercer upset high seed Duke, then we beat Mercer which was a good matchup for us IMO the team went farther in the Tournament and would have probably lost to Duke. I think that's a part of getting in a lucky bracket where someone upsets a team virtually changing your seed from 11 to 2 that Duke had, after you beat Mercer.

We’ve gotten pretty lucky under Barnes when it comes to top teams in our bracket going down. I wouldn’t bank on that happening again. Which is why you need the best seed possible.

I mean we’ve been in BOTH brackets with the only two 16 seeds to win in the history of the tournament.

I was pumped when we won it in 2022, but the reality is that conference tournaments are nothing but money grabs. For teams that already have an at large bid secured, conference tournaments are nearly meaningless and serve as nothing more than opportunities for injuries to occur.

As much as I have enjoyed them over the years, they really make zero sense to me. As you said, those with an at large bid have really not much to play for. It's also kind of dumb to me that a team that's on the bubble who has had all season to prove their case can move the needle by winning a few games in a few days. It really makes no sense to me for one bid conferences. You go 4 months proving you're the best team in the conferences and you lose it all because you can't turn around and prove it all again in a 3 day mini-season. If I were in a one bid league I'd push for the regular season champ to get the bid which would make their conference tournament meaningless.

I'm amazed at how much in college athletics they convinced us for years made sense.

With the PAC-12 dissolving they should give the top 6 teams in each of the major conferences automatic bids and let the other teams within those conferences participate in a conference play-in tournament to determine the rest of the NCAAT bids. The conference tournaments are meaningless. If you haven’t proven yourself over a 30 game schedule during the regular season then you really don’t deserve to get into the dance.

I'm not sure a loss Saturday is the "most likely outcome," unless my interpretation of that phrase is different than yours. We've probably got a 60% chance to win.
Arkansas, Alabama and Florida going to beat us. Our team doesn’t play like a team.
