I prefer the ESPN Hoopsgirls rankings which are far more accurate than he has been over the years. Women's Basketball - ESPN Ranking UConn over the UCLA class is laughable. They in no way match up to that class this year. Aja moves Tennessee up to top three if she signs with us. She moves SC to 1 or 2. She moves UConn to 1 so her signing will make one of these classes much better.

To be candid, this is not a great UT class.

It got a great boost when Jannah Tucker joined it in November. Even though she isn't counted in the class with her Tennessee is easily number three. Starting next season we can put five players on the court all rated in the top ten in their class haven't been able to do that in quite a while.

The early signing period ended 11/20/13. The regular signing period opens 4/16/14 and ends 5/21/14. The LVs are still on #1 in the nation A'ja Wilson's list along with N. Carolina, S. Carolina and UConn. Many think she will pick South Carolina as she is getting a lot of pressure to stay in state. There are many theories as to why she is waiting to make a decision. One circulating now suggests that her waiting to commit, means she will not choose SC and is delaying to minimize the flak she will get if she leaves the state. In truth, no one knows anything.

I don't know or care about rankings. Those three girls are very good players based upon their film. If anyone says it is not a very good class they will be surprised.

I wonder if a recruit gets extra points for being accepted by certain teams. In this case, perhaps All Star Girls thinks if Geno wants them, they must be better than we thought. One never knows how a high school player will perform in college. How does the player fit in with the team, and many other characteristics are important. It's not just talent. But, the fans can latch on to the service that rates their team best. That enables us to be happy, happy, happy until the player has to perform on the court. Suddenly the ranking is no longer important.

I hope she decides on Tennessee as well but I am very happy with who we can put on the floor next season. I think it is far better than this season.

obviously my comment is in general and it's to everyone that has had nothing but negative things to say about the class based on rankings alone.

Regardless of ranking these players are performing on the court Nared is averaging 28.3 points and 18.5 rebounds in her first four games. Kourtney Dunbar averaging 18 points and 8 rebounds has 17 three pointers. Alexa Middleton just named MVP of high school tourney in Hawaii is averaging 17 ppg.

No Nared, Middleton, Tucker, and Dunbar will be here and maybe another player.

That's what I meant. Everybody on the current roster returns except Simmons, so playing time for freshman could be limited--and that's a good thing.

but high-school averages don't necessarily mean a lot, especially if someone is playing in a small-town or small-school league. Depends on the quality of the competition. That is why, in a perfect world, you want recruits who play in very competitive, quality, big-school leagues.

Middleton plays for Murfeesboro they play the top teams in the nation. They just played in a tourney in Hawaii and she was MVP although Murfeesboro lost the title game to a California school. Edwardsville is city of 25000 and is only 25 miles from St. Louis has over 2400 students. They play in class 4a which is the highest in that state. Westview High in Oregon has 2738 students and is 6A the highest classification in that state. So all three players play against the best in their state.
