LV 2019 Recruiting Thread

It’s not smart recruiting...especially if they are all undersized guards (exaggerated 5’7), all with questionable outside shooting except one. Plus none of them are as highly rated as Annie was. Not saying they won’t make great support players but we are already stacked with “support” players. We need dominant guards...ELITE guards like Notre Dame, Texas and Texas A&M (Chennedy Carter) has. It’s been a while since we have had a truly “dynamic” or prolific scoring lead or combo guard especially one who can create their own shot AND CONSISTENTLY nail the three...Simmons is the last I can think of. If we could just clone Ogunbowale...lol:rock:

A Meighan Simmons clone would surely feel miserable under Coach Holly!

Agree about the coaching situation!
Agree about the father!
Agree about the locks!

I like following recruiting. We signed four (#1 ) class 2017..... four next year (top 5) 2018 .... the OP was saying we gonna get a good class in 2019 ( 5 recruits).... With a limit of fifteen , you cannot sign four recruits every year ! Just saying! When you throw in the Hayes sisters promise... There is a limit of recruits for 2019 & 20!

There is uncertainty surrounding this program. That is probably why Fulmer will grant some kind of extension? I was just pointing out that our recruiting is approaching its limits! Without any recruits DUE to leave until 2021..... we have :
4 in 2017
4 in 2018
2 in 2019 ( Aisylnn , Saunders )
10 total (so far )

5 more scholarships left for 2019 & 20!!!! Considering The other Hayes sister promised in 20.... That leaves only four spots available for 2019 & 20!!!
Just pointing out how I think 🤔 Ridiculously
Why in the hell would you agree about a slam on a father of a player and future recruits? I know you love explination points, and over use...but seriously!#$#:=÷+/\%_*!!! Why? Do you know the father, ever talk to him? Ever asked if quotes are out of context? What would ever make you make such an assine comment!#÷,*\/%!#÷$@!#!!

And thank God, Meghan was uncoachable, through up bad shots, when no one was expecting it, hated by the " baby vols" as a distraction and problem. Never played defense, and seriously was never a team player. Hopefully we never try to " correct" another "diamond" type alpha star again. There is a very good reason she doesn't play professionally much...she isn't a team player

Know him ! 🤔. Does anybody ever know someone? I have been divorced before and thought I knew someone! 😁

I sat in front of him a few times in the last three years while watching the sisters play at Riverdale . We did not have an in-depth conversation about his philosophy of life . I did not ask him about the revalence of things that I had read about him . But you do hear things at games , and I can read about law suits and explication of the results. I have read his Twitter remarks about his kids and their playing time. ETC. ETC . I was just agreeing with a poster and then giving my information as I thought it might be relavent . But I will agree with your concern about my post as to my personal knowledge of the Hayes family or their children . I just enjoy watching kids play the game I love and can appreciate when they do play well. If you want to give your personal knowledge of this family ???? Please have at it . I will not correct or question your opinion as like you know.... everyone has one ☝️
PS my post was 99% about recruitment as this is my main interest. Maybe you could read the rest of the post and then comment.
PPS. Your concern is actually with Darth_Vol and his comments that I was just agreeing with. Just Saying 😁

I disagree. The only trouble with Simmons was she was stuck in Holly's offense.

That was one of Holly’s better passing teams, the offense ran through Simmons a lot. I believe Simmons got a lot of flack because she was our shot creator, go-to player, could go off at any time scorer, however she was just wildly inconsistent. We didn’t know which Simmons we were going to get.

Simmons did not deserve nearly all of the vitriol she got. Maybe she shot too much, but at least she was willing to shoot the ball...which couldn't be said for most of her other teammates.

Agreed! Actually wondered if her teammates' lack of production led to Simmons thinking she needed to do too much.

Her efficiency was pretty decent and she is in the top 5 LV scorers of all time.

Laya Hartman 5’11” G 2019 Michigan. Verbal to Northwestern. She visited 3/31/17 and I believe she had an offer? Other big ten school offers also.

If we had a good coach and staff they would fly out and check this young lady out Azaria Robinson Anchorage, Alaska
East Anchorage, Class of 2019

she is a beast on the boards strong and will not be out worked. She is like Tamari Key on the boards Azaria Robinson's Women's Basketball Recruiting Profile

How do you know they haven't already and just prefer to go in a different direction?

She has talent but I haven't seen her be able to stretch the floor which is what we seem to be looking for at the 4 Spot now (See Jaime, Cierra, and Rennia who spent some time there during the Holly regime) We are no longer looking (from what I can tell) are Post 4's (Graves and Jasmine Jones who for the life of me couldn't understand why we tried to make her a stretch 4).

We already have a Center verballed who is a legit 6'5" and still growing in Saunders (she can stretch the floor and has this summer and next school season to still add to her game) We still are high on Key (unsure if she's still high on us) and we are also high on Kennedy Brown (who is also 6'5" and can stretch the floor and is still growing).

We could potentially have 2 6'6-6"8 players playing at the 4 and 5 spot together for 2 seasons and both have the ability to step outside and hit the 3.

Just because the coaching staff doesn't state who they are interested in doesn't mean they have scouted or contacted these players.

I've been to a couple of AAU tournaments and saw Coach Law and Coach Elzy there (When they were at UT) and although I have yet to see Holly, Dean, Reeves, or Bridgette at one I don't rule out that they just don't go to them.

Ok maybe i`m hyping this young lady up but she has game. Yes she is only 6-2 6-3 but she is a real post player with big game and right now we don`t have that. And as for Saunders with Holly coaching ? hmm. As for Kennedy Brown i don`t like our chances players want to get better and you know just as well as i do under Holly that`s a problem.

Under Holly that was a problem but also under Holly we've seen players who haven't done anything at the next level either.

Is it Holly or could it be the other ladies prior to this current freshman class had no desire to truly put in the work.

We finally have a team (imo) where there will/should be competition at every spot and nobody is entitled to a starting position or any player feels they can perform however they want and not suffer consequences for poor performance.

Reynolds and Graves (2/3 seasons ago) and Russell and Jaime (the past 2 seasons) knew that no matter how poorly they performed or lack of effort shown (if it was) they would still be allowed to play.

I'm taking a wait and see approach because I want to see what Bridgette could possibly do for this team

I read and appreciate the research on recruits that you provide as well as your enjoyment in watching young women play basketball. The recent posts on the Alaska player were valuable for me to followup

the BUTt, is your constant message of your dislike of the LV coach. You are one of three knowledgeable posters who have to offer the same redundant negative comments over and over.
You nor I know who is at the top of the LVs recruiting list - which includes the most important, mutual interest. the last two years the coaches have done their jobs and as of April 2018 we have no reason to be negative re recruiting. We will be speculating possibles until the magic date in November. Keep us informed but consider lowering your venom.

thanks

If you feel this way about the coaching, then why bother talking abut recruits? It won't matter.
