This team is hard to watch. NOBODY CAN MAKE A SHOT. The Bigs miss layups. THEY GET BEAT TO LOOSE BALLS. I just don't see them getting all that fixed in 2-3 weeks. Oh and as John Ward would say-------LAZY PASSES. Overcoached on Defense? POINTS win games.

I think we beat Ky and MSU. Those teams don't have major 3 point threats and they like to run. We are a much better team when we press and run. Its the teams that slow the game down and make them play a half court set that i worry about.

But those teams have athletes and ballers....like the LVs do....we are able to out athlete Vandy, Mizzou, and OSU but UK and Miss State not so much

Yes I do have a clue. I am a season ticket holder. I have faith that these girls are going to come to life.
I applaud your loyalty and dedication to Pat Summitt and the girls, you didn't mention Pat, I am pretty sure you think the world of her just as I do. But the facts are if something doesn't change and change soon, the Lady Vols glory days are over.

Lady Vol fans as hard as it is going to hurt, get ready for our orange hearts to bleed. After watching the play of the LV last night against Vanderbilt and matching that play against the remaining schedule we the team will loose 6 out of the next 11, ending the regular season under the mark needed for the tournament. Review it yourself and if you see different please post your analysis: It hurts but here it is:

Kentucky - Loss
Miss. St - loss
Alabama - win
Texas A&M - loss
Vanderbilt - loss
South Carolina - loss
Ole Miss - win
LSU- win
Alabama - win
Georgia - loss

Always Next Year

You had me at loose.

The Massey site predicts 5 losses for the remaining games. Even with 6, I'm not sure that definitely disqualifies them for the NCAAT. It may depend on how other SEC teams do and where the Lady Vols end up in the overall conference standings.

Then there is still the conference tournament. Go very late in the tourney and it helps their case.

Last, if it is a toss up between the Lady Vols, and say Georgia, for the last SEC team that gets in, I think the LVs get the spot based on history and reputation.

You may be right, but its really sad that its come to this.

Jyrevols, you said that you are a coach at a "pro level" (I must confess to being a little skeptical that a WNBA or European level coach is posting here).

But, as a "pro coach" you surely know that match-ups and games situations vary. For any one of these games, DeShields or Graves could get into their zone; the LVs could discover the groove they found against Mizzou or OSU; the opposition could have bad games--we have seen a lot of upsets in the SEC.

Just not sure what you are hoping accomplish with this dire soothsayer post.

Nothing like crystal balls...:)

GO LADY VOLS...GO HOLLY!

I like the second part of the post. She needs to go and should have already been gone. She will loose to all the good ones and maybe even Ole Miss as well. Well It never hurts to dream, except his year when it turns out to be a nightmare

You may be right, but its really sad that its come to this.

For some people, pity is a very powerful emotion. If that is what it takes to get invited to the big dance, so be it. It sure beats staying home and watching the tournament on TV.

Jyrevols, who said you are a coach at a "pro level" (I must confess to being a little skeptical that a WNBA or European level coach is posting here)...

The statement made by Jryevols was "I have been a basketball coach ( not junior pro ) , and have taken the time to analysis every loss."

I notice three things:

1-The past tense: "have been". Is that the same as a "has been"? I can only speculate that Jrye was unfairly released from the job of coach of a "not junior pro" team.

2-And what about this "not junior pro" coaching job?? Who identifies their job by what it isn't? If it's not "junior pro", what is it? Junior amateur?

3-Now that I have taken the time to "analysis" (sic) jrye's claim, I feel perhaps Volnation should consider imposing a minimum age limit for posters.

Regardless of where you think this team is that should be a 8-3 likely finish at Very Worst 6-5

Also with our SOS and SOW we would make the tourney at .500

I have to ask, are you going to still be wanting a change of coach if they go on a winning streak and close out Feb strong, if the flip occurs? I not a big fan of Holly, but if they get healthy and start playing together, they are talented enough to go on a winning streak. It will be hard to get Hart or Tennessee to do anything, if they finish strong and just make their average Elite Eight or Sweet 16_run in the NCAA.

I'll take a shot, but I'll admit it's a stab in the dark. I only watch the LV's, so I don't know much about the match ups, and in basketball its all about the match ups. For example, I'm going to take the LV's against UK because UK plays man to man. On the other hand we may lose to some inferior teams that play zone, if we don't change our approach to the 3 point shot.

Kentucky - W
Miss. St - L
Alabama - W
Texas A&M - L
Vanderbilt - L
South Carolina - L
Ole Miss - W
LSU- W
Alabama - W
Georgia - W

So I have a 6-4 finish, with a lot of uncertainty.
