Some strong quotes from Johnny Majors about Butch Jones.

I’ve seen a lot of games as a head coach and an assistant coach when I first started coaching. I said, I doubt that there’s ever been a team and a coaching staff that ever did a better job at one game in the entire history of this school, because it was well coached—extremely well coached—with some big decisions made.

So that’s the best combination that you can put together. I’ve said from the beginning, he’s going to get the job done.

I said, “Coach you’re going to get the job done. It’s going to happen here and it will be in my lifetime.”

And I think it will be way before I’m gone. (chuckles).

Very strong praise, indeed!!

In that interview, Johnny also shared a sentiment expressed by many of us: "They [i.e. Tennessee] got robbed on a pass interference call that set up their [Georgia's] touchdown. That was a no call. No call at all."

He kept saying "if they give him a chance". He knew Dooley would be a bust. You just have to read between the lines. Don't worry, Johnny gets it. :)

Oh I agree, the media asks these kinds of questions and it's not like Majors or anyone else with any sort of class would respond "No way in hell this guy will get it done, what a terrible hire."

Saban said he thought Dooley was doing a good job after the thumping Alabama laid on us last year. Yeah right!

I know. Sorry, I didn't mean to single you out but anytime CJM is mentioned, the drunk jokes come out.

I will try to remember that - for the record I really liked John Majors and def believe that he was mistreated - but what went around came around.

Hopefully he is right about CBJ!

I thought the same thing. He was saying very nice things about his background and upbringing, and that he needed time.

Johnny said this about Butch:

I doubt that there’s ever been a team and a coaching staff that ever did a better job at one game in the entire history of this school

That is a compliment.

That was far and above anything he said concerning CDD.

Sousa should have asked Johnny what happens at UT when you make it a habit to badmouth your bosses.
