Make a List.

Realistic only...

1. Gary Patterson (TCU)
2. Charlie Strong (Louisville)
3. Butch Jones (Cincinatti)
4. Kyle Whittingham (Utah)
5. Mike Riley (Oregon St)
6. Matt Campbell (Toledo)

Kyle Whittingham would be a great hire. He has already proven he can beat Nick Saban on a big stage. His record is proven. He reminds me of Urban Meyer. I would take him over any other coach on your list.

Gary Patterson
Robert Petrino
Al Golden
Bob Stoops
Charlie Strong

NOT:
Kirby Smart
Sonny Dykes
Coach Cut
Derek Dooley

I don't think Petersen, or either Kelly are even in the realm of possibility but all would be good.

Charlie Strong: former SEC DC, Currently has Louisville undefeated

Bobby Petrino: Was competitive with Arkansas, with Tennessee's greater commitment would do well here. Apparently the first football coach to ever sleep with a student.

Gus Malzahn: Succesful SEC OC (likely the brains behind Auburn NC), having a good season at Arkansas St as HC.

Outside of these guys you are either taking a chance at a mid-major or dreaming that someone with a mid level BCS school would take (let's face it) a lateral move at this point.
