Make Chad Johnson an honorary Vol

Seriously, it looks like most of his troubles were at least 10 to 15 years ago. I don't know a great deal about him otherwise, but it doesn't seem like too much to ask to let him stand on the sideline. He is there to be with his daughter, after all, and he has given Hyatt a lot of love.

Do you think we could get OJ to come to a game?

Unlike Johnson, he was never convicted of domestic assault so if Ocho Cinco is welcome to the sideline maybe OJ could be an honorary captain and go out for the coin toss.
We’ve had Lil Jon among others with 0 Tennessee ties come visit so what’s the big deal about a 6x pro bowler future HOFer who shouts us out regularly on Twitter?

The kids know him from Madden games.
He would be a very good asset for the recruits to get to see him, especially if he is wearing Orange.

I guess my generation prefers the put up or shut up kind of persona. I appreciate the talent he had, I really did, but it is a little hard to get past his antics. I can't help but wonder if he had spent more time preparing and working in his game rather than trying to sell himself would he have been even better. Sort of a shame really, but it was his choice.

It is interesting that he has interest in JH. Antics and ego aside, I'm sure OchoCinco has an eye for talent. Is have no problem with him getting an autograph as long as none of his ******** rubs off.

I hate Chad Johnson now? Thanks for letting me know. Are you cool for having OJ at the coin toss as an honorary captain or do you hate OJ for some reason?

I thought I was against a convicted wife beater with no connection whatsoever to the university being given special privileges that very, very few are afforded. Thanks again for telling me what I think.
He head butted her its not like he beat the **** out of his wife. And the only reason he got jail time is because he "good game" slapped his lawyers ass and it pissed the judge off. What that Bama WR did to that poor girl was way more egregious. Chad is a good person and a great dad to all of his kids.

Let him give the team a pep talk and have him on the sidelines for the game. Idk what all recruits will be in town for this game, but having Ochocinco there would be neat

Surely we will let Ocho on the field. Plus his Nephew or Cuz played for us in Brandon Johnson. Can never remember how exactly they are related.

Maybe he's a changed man now and all is well with him(and I don't really care if he's on the sideline or not), but describing what he did as "he only head butted her, didn't beat the **** out of her" is one of the more tone deaf things I think I've probably ever read.

And also weird to say Burton slapping or whatever he did to that woman is far worse than headbutting a woman. They're both awful.

As a man you don't hit women for any reason beyond protecting your life/lives of others. Simple as that. Physical strength difference is far too large for any other policy to make any sense.

I think Peyton has a connection to the University of Tennessee having played there for 4 years, been a representative of the university since then and contributed significant amounts of money. What is Chad Johnson's connection?

Johnson is a legend for his antics, not his on field career. And you may want to refresh your memory regarding his departure from the NFL. He was cut after being charged with domestic assault, a charge he ultimately was given probation for which he violated.

Odd to have so many people welcoming a man convicted of hitting a woman onto the field after the events at the end of the Bama game 2 weeks ago.

Didn’t his nephew or cousin play here?

44 year old dude with no ties to TN. He can sit in the stands with everyone else.

I kind of agree with this. Maybe let him get a pic or two AFTER the game with Hyatt. Other than that, he’s just another guest parent of a track recruit. Treat him the same as the other parents. If she chooses to attend UT, then he can sit with the other UT parents.

The guy has zero connections to UT. We don’t need his help to win this game or impress some recruits.

So we shouldn't be recruiting his daughter then?🤔

I don’t see a problem with him coming on the field befor and after the game to see or speak to the players, but I don’t really see the reason why he would want to be down there the whole time?? I mean I’m pretty sure he never asked that he just wanted to go on the field to get a picture with Hyatt. His daughter is going to be with him, I doubt he wants to stand the entire time with his daughter.

It always made me laugh that he changed his name incorrectly. He changed it to the Spanish equivalent of 8 5. 85 is ochenta y cinco
