Make it make sense

You have a guy with 20+ rushing TDs
Mentioned in the same breath as Henry and Fornette
Only behind 1 player in rushing TDs
Over 1000 yards on the season

Yet no respect when it comes to the Heisman

Sampson at this point you deserve a seat in NY.
His NFL contract will make up for not being mentioned in the Heisman…he looks to be the perfect NFL back in todays game…very similar to Karmara

The announcers last night were giving him plenty of Heisman hype. Hunter from Colorado might be in the lead now. Though some won't vote for him because they hate his coach. I thought UT killed Milroe's chances but he probably climbed back in last night. Though I don't think he will win. As long as Oregon keeps winning Dillon is in the picture. Ward is still in though he took a hit yesterday. Jeanty will be in NY but doubt he will win it. If Simpson can have 150+ and 2 TDs against UGA in a win next week and no fumbles he will make a big jump.

What’s this Heisman you speak of?? It’s dead to me.

Precisely. I wish these youngsters complaining about that meaningless award would do their duty and due diligence as Tennessee fans. Do your homework and you will understand why we at Tennessee refer to it as “meaningless.” Because it is, to us. The reasons why are all there in the history books.

After they robbed Peyton I haven't really gave a crap about the national media popularity contest.. Sampson deserves to be talked about amongst the Contenders but I'm not surprised he's being overlooked..

It’s pretty simple. Running backs aren’t as valued anymore as QB’s and WR’s. You see it in the NFL too. And that’s a shame because Dylan is talented and a first class man. I’ll take him over a bunch of the other favorites for that overrated trophy.

How much does the University marketing effort go into him getting more recognition? Or is it solely based on the media and the NCAA?

Is the university even lobbying for Sampson as a Heisman candidate? Typically when a team has a potential Heisman winner, the university will launch a marketing campaign to generate hype and hopefully votes. Yet I have never once heard the words "Sampson" and "Heisman" uttered by ANYONE in our athletic department.

They did call him a "Heisman Hopeful" during the game last night. . . 1 time. That's it.

We needed fans with signs of Sampson 4 Heisman, sticking them in ESPN's cameras all season. We needed UT's media dept running a Heisman campaign from the beginning as well.

It's probably too late, but we need lots of fans with Sampson/Heisman signs at the away games, we need them at gameday & SEC Nation regardless what campus/game they're doing that week. We need the media dept to go into overdrive pushing the narrative for him.

These thing should all be done, if for nothing more than practice for Nico's Heisman campaign next season.

Sampson has been very good, but he’s also lost fumbles at critical times. We’ve only beaten 1 good team. If he runs for 100+ and a TD against both Georgia and Texas… and we win both games… then and only then does he (and the team) deserve the Heisman.

Hope it happens

We don’t recognize the heisman in TN after the Peyton debacle. Get him All American status/ Doak Walker and he’s vindicated
