Jackson interview on radio cliff notes
1. Says he sees more players leaving including Mustain.
2. He will help recruit players from USC to UT but will not be pushy about it.
3. Did not know Lane at all. Lane just told him to do what he wanted to.
4. Ed O was really pissed about it and and Monte told him it was a bad move
5. He took his visit without the staff knowing and it is probably the case with others
6. UT was only school that called and wanted him


Thats about it. Just thought I would pass it along.

thats the kind of agression in recruiting that i like to see from the staff. it also sounds like this kid wants to be on the field, and made a move to put himself in a good position to do that. pretty admirable.

Actually, it's good news and bad news. No sooner than this transfer is announced, USC lands a commitment from LB Kent Turene who was high on UT's recruiting board. You can say one thing about Kiffin, he has raised one-upmanship to an art form.

I didn't. I wonder if he's got something in the bag for Seantrel leaving? Or Tyron if he decides to leave?

Eventually he won't be able to make everything look kosher.

Some did. Kiffin is known to keep commitments under wraps to waste the competition's time. He did that with Richardson in 2008 and Ambles in 2009. I think Turene gave Kiffin the nod weeks ago and Kiffin, in typical form, persuaded Turene to keep it quiet for awhile. The timing of the public commitment was Kiffin's convenient answer to the transfer news.

He said he no one came with him, and that he doesn't know if anyone has visited here. He said everyone is keeping very quiet about it in L.A., but that he thinks there will be more to leave.

"Leave" does not equal "transfer to play for the University of Tennessee Volunteer football team".

True. But, consider a few things:

There probably aren't many programs, let alone programs of UT's stature, that have available schollies to give. Most are probably maxed out at the 85 limit. UT can take what about a half dozen or so? They might find some comfort level in having some former teammates making the same move.

Bottom line: UT may not have that much tough competition in "recruiting" USC players that are thinking of leaving.

"If Tennessee needed them I'd kind of talk to them because it'd be nice to have an SC friend over where you are so you're not all alone," he said.

Malik Jackson got several phone calls after the NCAA handed down its punishment to the Trojans, but only one really intrigued him and that was Tennessee

i think this would be a big reason, if we get more USC refugees. its hard to pack up, on a moments notice, and move across the country, away frome everything that you are familiar with, and your friends. Jackson has made the leap. would be a little easier decision for any players that would want to follow him. i hope Jackson is getting alot of love on campus and from the team.
