Mallet vs Luck

ThroughtheT, I thought you were one of the guys saying we should stick with Clausen for a little while longer.
Anyone who reads the Panthers thread knows that I have a bit of a problem in that I seem to be obsessed with the prospect of landing Andrew Luck. I've watched him play a lot, and I truly believe he will be a solid franchise QB that a team can be built around. If he decides to stay in school, I will be in a bad mood for a while.
Mallet is a good college QB, but I see him at a Derek Anderson-type in the pros. Big arm, but slow and not incredibly accurate.
I'd rate QB prospects as Luck, Locker, Newton, Mallet.

No, I said blaming him for all of the team's problems was harsh, but they've gotta take Luck with the pick.

Locker didn't have a great year, but he's got a lot of "upside", as the draft guys would say. He's really quick and makes quick decisions.
Speaking of the draft guys, Kiper and McShay both have Locker above Mallet, so I'm not that crazy to prefer him to RM.

I don't think anyone would claim that Mallet is a sure-fire solid QB, but I'm very surprised that someone would he's going to be a bust, but Locker is the 2nd best QB in the draft.

And I believe McShay/Kiper both have Mallet #2 now.
