Malzahn open to Auburn moving to East

I am all for this proposal.

The problem is that the recent rule change doesn't allow it. The new rule says that a conference can hold a championship game if it either splits into divisions (and they did away with the 12 team requirement) or if the conference plays a full round robin schedule and the top two teams meet in the title game.

The SEC can't do away with divisions AND keep the title game since full round robin in a 14 team conference is impossible.

Thanks for clarifying.

I'll bet Malzahn is also open to his team having a halfway decent defense, but that ain't gonna happen either.

Amazing how he was labeled a genius after his first year....yours truly included. As we now know, that was quite the erroneous assumption. He barely looks like a competent SEC HC right now. Wonder what the Auburn AD's coaching search wish list looks like.

I haven't seen it but I'm guessing it begins and ends with

Tom Herman.

I haven't been tracking attrition at Auburn, but they should be loaded this year. They open with Clemson on 9/03 at +6. I doubt Gus throws the new
kid Franklin to the wolves in the opener but he wont hesitate to pull the plug if the lights haven't come on for Johnson.

I predict an Auburn win in a squeaker. 9-3 for the season and Gus survives.

Hop,

I don't see any scenario in which Auburn can slow down Clemson's offense. And while Clemson lost a lot on D, Auburn will have to show a lot more on offense than they did last year in order to keep up. I'm gonna guess that line is closer to 10 by the time the game rolls around.

But Auburn upgraded their D this offseason with Kevin Stee... Well never mind.

First game, tough venue, and I know it was a different team but Boyd, Bryant, and Watkins only put up
26 points in Atlanta a few years ago against one of the worst teams Auburn has ever had.

I'm rolling the dice on this one. Auburn's front 4 will be fierce if Derrick Thomas shows up in shape.
They have quality depth in the secondary and if the LB corps gel they'll have a solid defense. I'm
still giving Gus the BOD so I expect him to fix the problems on offense after Johnson stumbles
with this kid Franklin. 9-3 might be a reach, but I dont think they're near as bad as some people
think.

Really wish the SEC would just add another game. I miss playing Ole Miss, Auburn, and LSU every 2 years like we did before. Some great traditions and tailgating spots. I could care less about A&M and Mizzou.
