Man didn't realize Pearl had us in this great of shape in future!

Or Williams being the #1 C?

Don't you understand? Williams has been here longer so he has to be the guy who leads us past the sweet 16. No other player, no matter how talented, no matter how far they come from can interrupt the current legacy that is in progress in that of the legendary Brian Williams.

Is that a serious question? If Cam was able to stay healthy for more than 2 weeks it wouldn't even be a question.

No - sorry. Cameron has never stayed healthy and even when he was healthy at times last year he was surprisingly even more inconsistent that Hopson is this year. People just became enamored with him (IE Skylar McBee vs. Kansas) after 2 halves of basketball - the most notably being the 2nd half vs. Georgetown. He's about as hot and cold as a shooter can be.

Yea, with the consistency, toughness and effort that Hopson puts forward night in and night out, I could understand why one would think Hopson will hold off a healthy Tatum.

Yeah - just shows you how inconsistent Cameron Tatum actually is - huh? It's not a case of one guy being extremely good and playing their way into a position - but quite the opposite. But - pretty sure I already made that clear enough.

Give it up. Scotty Hopson is as soft as an expensive pillow and if he starts his crap like he has done annually then he will be on the bench watching other inconsistent players who don't let go of the ball, like some 3 year old kid caught with a handful of jelly beans, everytime someone looks at him.

He's done a lot more than Cameron Tatum to date and it'd be stupid to think differently. In my eyes - they both are average SEC guards. You give it up.

Cameron Tatum has injury problems and is one of the streakiest 3-point shooters we've had. He also has bad form on his shot (probably a good reason for being so inconsistent). He also isn't nearly as quick off the dribble and doesn't seem to be a very good FT shooter.

All Cameron has proven is that he can hit 6 three pointers in one half then miss his next 25 over the course of several games and can complete a good alley-oop dunk (super valuable) - then get injured on a consistent basis. At this point - you have to consider that the player is injury prone rather than just a few freak injuries and will never be fully healthy.

I'll take Hopson - but that's still not saying much..

I would think the starting lineup next year as of now would be:

PG - Goins
SG - Hopson
SF - Tatum
PF - Harris
C - Hall

Lineup Next Year (Potentially)

PG- Goins/Golden
SG- Tatum/McRae
SF- Hopson/Woolridge
PF- Harris
C-Hall/Williams

Probably gonna get 1 more post player, and later on that year we get Maymon. This team will be better suited to do what Pearl likes to do IMO especially with better outside shooters coming in and another year of experience for Hopson and Tatum.

Then the next year is probably going to be our loaded year if Harris stays along with Hopson and Ware and Jones stay committed, which they should.

Not done with this year, but I am really excited about the upcoming years as well!
Are you kidding me? Tennessee is gonna suck as long as this staff is in place... Just kidding..:)

I hope he starts all 3 of the frosh. The laziness shown by Tatum and Hopson this year is contagious. We'll never be able to press again until we get 5 guys on the floor at the same time who go all out. The 10 man rotation is supposed to be used because the starters are trying so hard that they need a breather. Scotty and Cam never get winded.

Pearl has done an outstanding job during his time here. a lot of people complain because we are not the national champion but i for one am very happy.
:eek:k::good!::clapping::dance2::thumbsup: Give him time. The best men's basketball coach in Vol land in quite sometime. Let's make him a long terms deal.:good!:

Hopson>Tatum...is that even a question?

And like Bass said, it's more the fact that Hopson is playing with less inconsistency than Tatum.

Golden, McRae and Harris might all end up starting from the Day 1... it is a significant possibility! Golden and Harris are obviously talented enough to start, but McRae might as well bc Tatum really hasn't developed much. Tatum has a lot of potential and now it is time to live up to it!

I thought Tatum had improved the most of any player, before all of his "issues". I think with another year, he will be a quality starter at least. If not a starter, then an "all-star" sixth man.

The freshman all sound like major contributors for sure, although I have heard less about McRae.

Surprised that just about everyone thinks Hall will start at center next year. I have no problem with it if he does but I think it will be Williams. I'd actually prefer it to be Williams. Maybe it's just me but I think Hall would be better off as a 6th man because of his versatility. Brian Williams will play at some point regardless but why not have him in early to bully some people around. Soften em' up a bit for Hall. Wear and tear man.

We would be in even more trouble if we had a walk on playing PG
Posted via VolNation Mobile

I think I've seen McBee run the point a little bit at times this season. He's pretty smart.

But, I agree with you Golden would pry be better even as a freshman. I'm not saying Golden shouldn't play point at all in his first year. Just that it's not good if a freshman that played shooting guard in high school is playing over a senior point guard. He could use a year to work on it as a backup I'm sure.

The way Williams has been playing since he's been back, he should'nt be playing no more than 10-15 minutes a game. He seems winded fast and then all he can do to play D is foul em.

He shouldn't be taking shots but he is probably the the teams best rebounder. He is a big asset compared to the rest of the team when they are playing a big physical teams. People might go around him for some points but they aren't going through him.
