It's pretty cool. I've mentioned in other threads that I work for Travel Channel, and I can tell you that Adam is really cool guy. Just yesterday, I had to email him some info about tonight's new episode of Man vs. Food Nation because he's going to tweet about it as it's airing live. If you haven't seen his episode in Knoxville, you should try to catch it sometime. He shows love to the Vols.
Tonight's episode is in Mobile Alabama, and some record holder is trying to scarf down a ton of oysters.

Why did he stop doing the challenges?

They've done a few here, pretty cool seeing local joints on TV.

i saw the knoxville episode when he was there. i knew all the places expect the place where he ate the burrito.

I absolutely love the bbq places he goes. i get bummed because chattanooga doesn't have any unique restaurants. it's all chains.

I'd have to guess either:

A) executive decision

Or

B) Doctor told him he needed to stop (For a while at least)

I think part of it is that he has eaten just about everything he can, from huge steaks to sinks full of ice cream. The show is still one of the network's best rated shows, they just needed a way to keep it fresh as they go forward.
I know that Adam has a strict diet/work out schedule when he's not shooting an episode, but his doctor really might have had something to do with it. Getting others to do new challenges is a way to still do the show, without having him do challenges just like ones he's done in the past.

I have created a bunch of new delicacies around the house because of this show. I don't see how he does some of that stuff

Well he looks like even though may have a "strict diet and exercise schedule", he's put on weight. I'd say it's catching up to him.

Food programming works. That's what Oprah wanted to start with her new TV network before Scripps preemptively launched Cooking Channel.
Also note that Travel is a part of Scripps Networks. They also have Food Network and Cooking Channel, along with DIY, HGTV, and GAC.
The old Travel Channel staples like Samantha Brown just weren't getting any ratings.

The same day History Channel became the Obscure Job Channel.

Also, crazy conspiracy theory/Nostradamus channel. Basically, if you were to combine the History Channel and extreme implicit racism, you'd get gs.

That's because Samantha Brown's show had the depth of a puddle.

The Knoxville episode of Man v. Food is scheduled to air again April 26th at 7p. As I've mentioned before, I work for Travel Channel, and I just noticed that on the schedule so I thought I'd share.

Ye Olde Steakhouse. Then he did Nixson's deli, some BBQ place off Magnolia (personally I think they missed the mark and should have hit up Chandlers). He did the challenge at Sweet P's BBQ, a little hole in the wall WAAAYYY out there on Alcoa Hghwy. For that sole reason I went out there to Sweet P's to check it out, and was highly disappointed.

You were disappointed? I've been out there a few times, and I love that place. I've had the burrito he eats in the challenge (the normal size), adn it was good. But their brisket will blow your skirt up.
