Manning commercials

Is anyone getting tired of all the Peyton Manning commercials? It used to be cool to see him have success and be able to capitalize on that success. The SNL skit was funny and I didn't mind the Direct TV commercials but this latest one about radio in the car is plain stupid. Imo. Is he over extending himself?

I try to avoid commercials as much as possible, but I’d much rather see Tiger Woods endorsing an “escort” service or Phil Fulmer extolling the virtues of Krispy Kreme’s finest. An advertisement that plays off the celebrity’s, or former celebrity’s, off-the-field activity or personal predilection, especially if there’s scandal involved, has built-in intrinsic humor and makes a stronger impression on the viewer. American TV viewers with a good sense of humor love a good parody. I’d find the humorous approach much more interesting than Peyton, or any other sports figure, unabashedly endorsing a product that everyone knows he has no connection to.

No.

Anyone would be crazy not to take advantage of what he is. He is laughing all the way to the bank. He should milk it for every penny.

He is marketable, who would you rather see Cam Newton? People want to see people they can identify with in commercials. Manning is just like any other guy you would meet personality wise. I mean who would you rather hang out with, Brady or Manning? Marketable people sell products. Rather see him than many other options out there.

I'm not ... many commercials are plain stupid but I did not think this was one of them. Overextending himself ... not sure what you are asking. I hope he continues to do commercials and make me laugh.

Great Day, is there ANYTHING Tennessee "fans" won't b*tch, whine, and moan about???

Is there?

He says as he b*tches, whines, and moans about fans b*tching, whining, and moaning.

That Buick commerical was shot just outside of Johnson City during a charity golf tournament. He was not willing to cancel his commentment to the charity to shot the commerical so they did the commerical here. The road signs are superimposed and overlayed in the video.
That Buick commercial was shot here in Greeneville on the 11-E Bypass not too far from the theater complex. The sign actually reads Greeneville, and it was changed to Greenwood. Watch the commercial, and where it says Greenwood, it actually says Greeneville on the real sign.
The reason it was shot here in Greeneville was that Manning was staying at The General Morgan Inn in Greeneville while playing at the charity golf tournament in Jonesboro at the Blackthorn Club, formerly known as The Ridges. The golf tournament was to benefit Niswonger Children's Hospital in Johnson City. The reason for the General Morgan Inn is that G'ville resident Scott Niswonger owns the hotel, and put Manning up here. They shut down the Bypass on a Sunday morning to shoot the commercial. Now you know the rest of the story.

No, the commercials are funny and make you laugh..

According to Jimmy V, laughing is number one on the list of the three things you should do everyday.

Not a bad list, I might add..

"To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special."

Please explain to those of us who don't get your subtle implications to accidental humor. Thanks.

I'll try to be as explicit as possible: Malapropism and misspellings of common words almost always elicit some sort of response in most people. Depending on the severity of the error (whether intentional or not), they can be either funny or cringe-worthy. Most of the time, I just have to laugh. It’s as simple as that.
