Marcus Vick

Hearing a little more about this, I think Va Tech is a little shaky here. By allowing Vick to play in the bowl game, they are basically saying that they were willing to overlook another brush with the law, but the intentional leg stomp was just too much for them to bear. :dunno:

Va Tech dismissed Marcus Vick from the football program today. Good to see the Hokies actually do have some standards for behavior.

Kudos to them.

.....That's a a big, brave step for VT considering the current college football cilmate.

I just heard on the news that the driving on suspension is going to be dropped. Apparently, he forgot to fill out a form and it still showed up as suspended when he was pulled over for speeding. Likely story...

My guess, Mike Vick made a big donation to the Hampton Police Department and things were forgotten.

"Brent Schaeffer was unavailable for comment."

I wonder if any recruits debating between UT and VT will be swayed by his dismissal....

Anyway, does anyone have a video of Vick's stomp, or a link to it? I was watching a different game at that time and missed it.

I couldn't believe he claimed it was an accident. He grinded his foot in pretty hard.

TV reports he is meeting with big brother to discuss his NFL options. If he does something like that in the NFL, he will find himself on the receiving end of an as*whipping. And they call us UThug.

Yes, I have a little more respect now for the VT program. I will remove them from the FSU/Miami category on a probationary basis.

Let's start a pool on who will draft him.

I've got the Detroit Lions. Solid history of poor draft selections, what's one more.

Somebody might use a late pick on him, but I don't know . . . With his track record, unless he sets the combine on fire I'd think most teams would have a hard time committing cap room. He's a perfect candidate to go play in Europe though.

Why? It appears that Beamer would have kept him. Reports were that the VT President is the one that pulled the plug.

VT fans in my area are going ballistic. :eek:lol: Most of them couldnt tell you who the back up even is. I too believe Beamer would have let that slide under the rug. Raises alot of questions about him and his team.

They have a good backup. With some experience, he'll be a real threat.

You could be right OWB. The annoying VT fans i know of, have only been on the wagon since VT games became exclusive ESPN Weds/Thurs nights. Most of them cant get cable yet, so they come down off the mountain and lay around in Damons ordering water and roll's til the game is over.
According to them, Will & Mary and UVA (Wise) should be BCS quality wins.
