According to Nascar Harvick would have won either way. They say when the wreck happened at that point Harvick had passed the last scoring pylon ahead of mark

On Wind Tunnel last night, they did freeze it to where Harvick was ahead when Kyle Busch was already completely sideways... it would've depended when and where they thrown the caution. Thankfully, they didn't.

Imo Harvick did'nt rate the win. Course many times in NASCAR the most deserving doesn't win. If MM hd turned he wheel right into harvick puttin him in the wall or getting him loose Martin wouldve won. Martin is a classy driver that desrved his time in the spotlight, Harvick is a theif that stole it and is a punk worthy only of contempt.

They both raced each other clean. Harvick just made it there first. If Harvick had "let" Martin win, I would have been very disappointed in him. They race to win and Harvick did just that.

Agreed, and let's not forget this was the Daytona 500...not exactly the Food City 500 or another lesser tier race...

I agree it was the right thing to do. I think they should go back to racing to the caution at all times myself, but they never will.

I'll bet Clint Bowyer would disagree. Wonder how it feels to be sitting upside down across the track and waiting to get hit in the door b/c fans wanted everybody to race to the caution?

What would them throwing the caution have anything to do with the guys that have already wrecked?

Also, when Bowyer came to rest he was in the infield rightside up...

The wreck was already in progress... throwing the caution doesn't automatically make the cars slow down and form into a single file line.

Coming from a diehard Boyer fan I must saying throwing the caution when the wreck happened wouldn't have helped much. No way with them all together could they slow enough to avoid hitting Clint or anyone else, in fact them letting off the gas or hitting the brakes would have lead to a even bigger mess. Glad Clint and everyone is okay, pretty scary stuff with the car on fire. The race was pretty boring until the last 40 laps then it was racing like it's meant to be at Daytona.

I was using the incident as an example. That kind of situation is the very reason NASCAR adopted the rule. Even the drivers like it.

It'd be nice if they could find a happy medium where the drivers behind the wreck would slow down and recognize that there is a big friggin' wreck in front of them, but also allow the drivers in front of the wreck to race to the finish... obviously easier said that accomplished.

Stewart and Busch had the cars to beat....But i was all bout martin winning the thing..he should have ran harvick in the wall, but he is a clean driver, hence why he is da man!
