If Florida keeps losing offensive linemen, then maybe we have a decent shot at beating the Gators.

They already had to replace four starters from last year's O-Line, which admittedly wasn't that good, anyway. This year's line was young and thin (depth-wise, not weight-wise . . .) to begin with, plus they've lost two projected starters to injuries during preseason practice.

I don't take joy in anyone getting injured, but can't say I feel sorry for the Gators, given the injury bug that's plagued us for so many years and often played a major role in the early season matchup.

agreed...add to that their apparent lack of ability to run the ball...things might get a bit dicy in gatorland this season...you never know...we were supposed to be the #3 team in the nation last year....could UF be up for a bit of a fall from grace too? probably not on the disasterous levels we had mind you, but 4-5 losses possibly?

i'm seeing some chinks in the gator armor now....

Don't forget their schedule this year. Not a good one for a young O-line.

If we get our O line and QB situation a little better I see us as a very tough game for anyone in the nation. We have a solid running game and all we need is a good enough passing game to spell the run and we should be in every game and win most of them.

yep...and having been asked this question over the summer, i pegged the gators with 2-3 losses because of their schedule....at that time i really thought UF was probably the best team in teh SEC on paper...but the more and more i hear and read...the less and less impressed i get....

that doesn't mean that they couldn't come to Knoxville and beat us mind you, but i feel a bit better about our chances than i did a few months ago...

Just go for the soft underbelly. UF and UGA both having problems before season starts. We are in a age of instant analysis. Now with ESPN and cameras at every school we are getting analysis and change of "expert" opinions based on what happened five minutes ago. Gone are the days of letting the kids practice and letting this progess before commenting on every small step along the way. Having said that, I enjoy being informed but opinions and analysis can be premature. Let things play themselves out before season start. 17days!

I thought we all knew UF had major chinks in the armor. The OL before the latest news was already very suspect, and while they have had the best team in theory and on paper since the spring, we all knew we had a chance no matter what against them.

There is no team in the SEC, minus maybe Auburn, who doesn't have some sort of question(s). Tennessee has about as many questions as UGA, LSU, and UF. Weeeeeeee can doooooo it! :D
