Really seems like their situation with him mirrors ours with fulmer in every way.

I think people really underestimate how well liked Richt is. There are rumblings from the fringe fans down here about letting him go, but he's got a tremendous amount of goodwill built up with everyone that matters.

That sounds very similar to what we were hearing about Fulmer in '07 and '08.....

Personally, I think it's '07 for Richt...worst case. He'll get one more year, at least. But if he doesn't make the SECCG in the next 3 seasons, this one included, all the church ladies in Athens can't save him.

Go Vols.

except one major difference
Fulmer's National Championship
but other than that, it's very siimliar
One big difference . . . Richt hasn't come close to crapping out and having 2 losing seasons.

Fulmer's highs were higher, but his lows were also lower.

Richt doesn't have a national title, but he also doesn't have a losing season. That actually makes the decision to let him go that much tougher. It's easy to run a go who finishes 5-7...not as easy to drop the hammer after 8-4 or 9-3.

Which happened ten years prior and lost some of it's gravity.

Fulmer was friends with all the right people, so is richt.

right...
That's why I think Richt's get another couple of years
but losing to SC, doesn't bode well for the rest of his SEC schedule..
If we can pull off the upset that only leaves Vandy as a lock

how long does that really matter tho if they are letting the program slip and not at least keeping it on par with the rivals?

Spoken like a true Vol fan.

Or not.

17 points against UGA...at home...doesn't impress me.

Steven Garcia looked like Steven Garcia. He can be counted on to make a few really good plays...and also to toss a couple of stinkers along the way. USCe has a long tradition of QB's just like him.

I liked the USCe defense. Then again, they were at home, against a RF QB, and no AJ Green. Kinda like UT without G Jones or D Moore. But we should have one, or both of them back, for the game.

The SEC East is wide open. There is no front-runner at this point. After the UT-UF game, we'll know more. Until then, it's anybody's division.

Go Vols.

Yes he will. I predict that he will not be the HC at Georgia next year, which will be good for our recruiting

I don't think Richt will make it to the end of the year. It's a shame that an avg. of 10 wins per/yr over the last 9 years isn't good enough. I think the issue is losing SEC games. Richt is a good coach, but there were some severe techinique issues on his defense today. I seen numerous times where the players were not wrapping up, and just trying to land a big hit.
