You're obviously too dumb to comprehend this difficult subject, so I'll leave it at this. You want to take a look at a dead language, look at Latin. English, as a language, is a living, ever changing creature, and will continue to change as long as people speak it. The media had nothing to do with your laziness.

I understand your point. However, I do not believe you understand the fact that leaving out that comma changes the meaning of the sentence. "...junior college, Tennessee or Georgia" states that Tennessee and Georgia are junior colleges. If your heart is so set on leaving out that last comma, then change the order to "...Tennessee, Georgia or a junior college." (Which still is not a good option as it implies option 1 is Tennessee and option 2 is Georgia or JUCO. Serial commas are rather necessary for "or" sentences, but not for "and." I'm fine with English as a living language. However, unlike you, I am not fine with poor writing, especially from people who are paid to do it for a living.
I apologize to everyone else for this long winded rant about grammar on a sports board.
