Ford added 14 pounds of muscle over the winter. I could see him playing at 230-235 this fall and coming in next year as a 250-lb. rush end.
He has the type of frame that will allow him to either play defensive end or outside linebacker in college, and he said either is fine with him. "I'll do it ... seems fun," Ford said of dropping back to linebacker.
As the offseason camp schedule picks up heading into spring football, Ford will have plenty of opportunities to shine, which is all he wants. "I'm really excited. I'm ready for it," Ford said. "If I show out and do what I need to I should be fine.
He said he'd like to add a few pounds to his athletic, muscular frame and since this past season Ford has gained 14 pounds from working in the weight room. He runs a 4.6-second 40-yard dash and provides quite a task for opposing offensive linemen trying to stop him from coming around the end.
