So funny how if he had committed to Tennessee - he'd be a great player.

Suddenly he's going to get ran over by every player on the Vols roster..

Don't get me wrong - I hope the Vols beat the Gators everytime we play them for the next million years, but I wish this young man good luck.

I'm not saying I don't think he'll be a great player. I just hope he gets a reminder every year that he should have stayed in his own state!

Anybody from Tennessee that wishes bad things on any kid from Tennessee don't have much a backbone themselves. The complacency of the staff before this one, that stood still as every other team in the SEC made themselves better, dropped the ball on Teague.

Suddenly you're the authority on a person's naming rights?

I'm wishing a young man whom I've had the chance to see play numerous times and even speak to good luck. Just remember that A) He'd be announcing his commitment to Tennessee if Phil and staff hadn't been so laid back about things and B) You'd have no problem with this kid. Whatsoever.

I have to agree with you here....the past coaching staff did drop the ball on Teague. I hope he wishes over and over each fall when he faces UT that he was a Vol. But he is just a kid and I do wish him well as a player....just not the Gator team.

It's not over until NSD! Once CLK gets his staff together, Coach O and the other position coaches, we will get some of these guys to take another look at us. We need to turn up the heat a bit but one man can't do it alone. He needs his staff together first.

nothing against the kid personally,i just have a problem with recruits leaving state to play for our top rivals.I would equate it to treason. If the program is going to be successful the in state bleeding has to stop.

I don't like it, either. BUT - what do you expect when staff doesn't really pay much attention to the players. I don't know how this deal will turn out, but we saw what Hightower's done at Bama.

Dontae Hightower
Randall Cobb
Patrick Turner
Golden Tate
Harrison Smith

just to name a few.

If you include Memphis as "in-state" you get the list of

Michael Oher
Greg Hardy
Greg Cooper

and no telling how many good players I've missed.

I agree with the before mentioned.....in-state bleeding has to be stopped.

I am not going to argue that Fulmer did a great job of recruiting the state the last five years or so. But Randall Cobb has not proven much as a college QB yet. He was basically a niche QB this year. He was not regarded as a college QB by any big time colleges. Definately too early to tab him as a miss as a QB. Patrick Turner we did not lose by lack of effort. We pushed hard for him and just could not overcome the appeal of USC. Golded Tate was a miss, for sure. He and Harrison Smith attended Catholic schools and that at least gave ND some extra pull. UT had no shot with Oher because of connections to the Ole Miss program. Cooper did not come to UT because he was scared of competition, bottom line. Hardy was certainly a miss.
