I grew up playing violent video games, watching violent movies, listening to violent movie and I haven't lived a life of crime. I'm not buying your gross oversimplification of an issue.

You were raised poor but you had a good upbringing which isn't the case for a lot of people. A lot of these kids come from broken homes, broken families, poverty stricken areas with the only way(in their minds) is a life of crime. Once they're in the system, they never get out.

Look up crime statistics and tell me where they are and then go look up household income in that area.
They are scum..period. I was scum when I was one of them..but as bad as I was I never stole from people.

*money*

Could be stealing money to buy drugs. Or stealing drugs bc you don’t have money. But most crime is due to money. Skimp out on paying a dealer, there will be crime. Dealer can’t pay his supplier, there will be crime.

Not just applicable to drugs either. Rich mofos be breaking laws all the time trying hide money, get more money, etc.

Insurance fraud - money.

Tax fraud - money.

Drugs - money.

Robbery - money.

Carjacking - money.

And on and on and on...

Most evil in this world can be traced back to money.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, 1 Timothy 6:10. Never thought I would be posting scripture on VN, but it seemed appropriate!

I actually think bad behavior has two components - motivation (e.g. love of money, drugs, etc.) and lack of inhibitions (e.g. no social consequences for bad behavior, no moral compass). Put these together and problems are almost guaranteed.

Just leave a basket of snickers bars behind the dumpster and he will likely not bother anything else.
That's how it starts, though. First it's snickers, then it Twix. The next thing it's Goo Goo clusters. You can't encourage his bad behavior. Maybe I should put the snickers behind a neighboring business' dumpster.

Now we are getting somewhere. Pawn him off on someone else and let him be their problem. Let's throw some snickers in the football forum and see if we can get him to go over there and poop post in their yard for a while.

Broken Homes? I give you that MANY of the subjects you speak of don't have a Mother and Father at Home. Poverty doesn't enter in the equation. Work fixes Poverty; and Anyone can work (That wants to) . Anyone can Achieve (That wants to). Dolly Parton Grew up as I did. Dirt Poor. She worked hard to get where She is. She could have sat on her butt and married some Lazy Dude, had 10 kids, but She wanted More. Poverty didn't stop her. Too many don't have the Want To.
