Martin believes we can make it...

Cuonzo is just saying what he thinks the fans want to hear right now - only natural from a new coach who has job security to consider. The future is cautiously optimistic from here on out, but these Vols have been known to fall flat on their faces for no particular reason. So, we'll see what we'll see.

Let's be real here. It is possible for the Vols to make the NCAA tourney. However, that possibility is a HUGE longshot.

Our head coach should always believe we are going to make the NCAA tourney....right?

Not if its impossible as many on here claimed. Just proving once again it's still feasible to make the tourney, and that our coach knows it and so do the players.

Im curious how our players and coaches play/respond knowing its a possibility.

I sure hope they make it.

But if they don't, I hope it doesn't take away from the progress this team has made. I hope if they don't make it that they get a large following in the NIT. I know I'll be keeping track of them and scheduling time to watch the televised/streamed games no matter where they land.

Here's my approach. Let's take it one game at a time. No looking ahead. No what ifs. Win and let the chips fall where they may.

Martin is a man of few words and fewer promises. He does not bloviate. I believe he believes what he says.

He is finally understanding that he has to set up Stache as a scorer and help him get open to shoot. Defense alone is not enough and it seems to me that he is starting to work more on the offensive sets.

But then again we might miss almost every shot next game and look like ****.

I think this is a forum first on using the word bloviate.

Congrats!

+1

Except for one thing, ccm will NEVER feel defense isn't enough. Those same sets and shots have been there all year for mcbee, hes just starting to knock them down more. The defense is really close to where he wants it and so now he is able to work a little more on the motion offense now.

It's pretty simple. You don't get in with 15 losses. You have a chance with 14 losses, but it's diminished. You get in with 13. The committee will not let a 15 loss team with losses to c of c, oakland and AP in the tourney.

I agree and thats why I have said we have to win out in conference play.

So you're saying, if we had 15 losses last year (losses to COC and Oakland) and an RPI of 46 instead of 41 we wouldn't have gotten in?
