Martin has a Tough Decision to Make (Long)

Your not taking away RW minutes, if anything your giving him more. In tho situation the person losing minutes is tatum, which is more than fine with me. Here's your rotation:

Golden/Richardson
Richardson/McRae
Woolridge/tatum
Stokes/maymon
Maymon/hall

All you are doing is taking away tatum's minutes putting RW there and giving stokes the PF position.

You are changing RW role in which he has settled into being a productive player. Moving him into a ball handling role would disrupt and destroy the positive he is giving us IMO. That has nothing to do with how many minutes he is playing.

He has played the 3 for the last 4 years he knows what he is doing in that position it's not like you are throwing him out there in that position for the first time. The root of his effectiveness lately isn't him settling on a POSITION, it him hustling and scrapping and doing the little things, he can do that from any position on the floor. IMO playing SF is where he would rather be in all honesty.

Yes he has played that before and been absolutely terrible. That's my point he finally is giving us something positive and we don't need to destroy that.

I think in the end RW will evolve into the fourth option in the post rotation. If he can continue his current good play he will be a very good option in that role.

Here's the question...is the team better with Woolridge at sf or tatum? I think clearly Woolridge especially lately but everyone is allowed an opinion.

And here's the problem with what your saying about him evolving into that player...the 4th option in the post is not going to see pt unless there is foul trouble.

I think Tatum but I wish RW could move into that role. I just don't think he can.

If tatum will play with the confidence and intensity he has come out with tonight them I'm fine with him keeping his starting role. He needs to play like a senior!

Stokes and Maymon will make a nice 1-2 punch the next year and a half. Hall is a solid 6th man, but he is way too slow with the ball in his hands and an extremely spotty player. Stokes may be starting in the next 3-4 games. He will free up space on the perimeter for Golden and Tatum.

While it passes the time, trying to guess rotations isn't very easy with CM. I counted 4 different PGs that first half. Who would have guessed Tatum and Mcrae? CM isn't afraid to mix it up it appears.

First of all I want to say this is a great dilemma to have but I do think it's one that CM will be challenged by.

I am going to list three options that CM has in dealing with Stokes. I am also going to list my opinion of the results of all three.

Option 1) Continue to play the rotation we have settled on with Stokes only playing if serious foul trouble occurs or games are out of hand.

Result: The team will continue to progress and in the short term this option will produce the best results for this team. The team chemistry will continue on its current path which from everything I can see is very good.

Option 2) Eliminate Yemi's minutes and insert Stokes into the rotation.

Results: In the short term I think the team will digress slightly mainly due to chemistry issues. I feel that the team will be resentful of Stokes in some small degree but after a short period of time the results will begin to turn in a positive fashion.

Option 3) Play Stokes as much as his body will allow and once he is in complete shape insert him into the rotation of Hall, Maymon, and Stokes with RW playing the minimal minutes.

Results) The team will take a significant step backward in the short term due to both significant chemistry issues and a lack of cohesiveness. After a long adjustment time the team will begin to flourish.

I am curious which option you think CM will take and what result you feel it will provide.

After watching the debut of Stokes its apparent that the decision really isn't a tough one at all.

Option 3 it is.

I'll now take option 3.

Based on what we saw today how long until Stokes is starting? Does he start at the four or the five? What about moving Woolridge to the three, where I think he is better suited? Stokes is going to be a beast for the Vols by the end of the season. Go Vols!!
