You are right, I forget we did hire their head coach and we know the Mizzou State BB program was an example of excellence over the last 3 years.

They won the conference title this past year

Never mind that Wichita State, who just whipped Bammers for the NIT title, btw, just let a huge sigh of relief now that CCM is out of the MVC. Lulz at those thinking they could have done a better hiring job considering all the circumstances. (This directed at OP, not you, Volnbama)

I'm kind of curious why UT didn't just target the Wichita State coach who won the NIT instead of the coach that got eliminated in the 2nd round.
Hmm...
So because Wichita State went farther, their coach is better?
Why not just go head to head if that's the logic you're going to use?
59-56 Missouri State defeats Wichita State
69-64 Missouri State defeats Wichita State
The second game decided the regular season conference champions.
Their coach is better because he's made multiple trips to the NCAA tournament in addition to winning the NIT this year.
Why did he have to go to the FF if he was going to bring along another scrub from Mizzu State? The last few years have been one huge nightmare for a Vol fans.
Drew Bledsoe was better than Tom Brady.
Being around longer doesn't make you better. It just means you've had more time to showcase yourself. Wichita State was recently coming off a Sweet 16 when Marshall took over. He's had four years and still hasn't gotten them in the NCAA tournament. He already had 8 years of coaching experience prior. Martin took a bunch of jucos and won a conference championship in his third year over Marshall.

I can understand that question. I thought Marshall would be the guy and I really wanted him to be. That being said, I think it is entirely possible CCM could be a better hire. I like CCM a lot, but I would have been very pleased with Marshall. We got CCM and I understand the hire and gonna give the guy and the entire staff a chance.

Marshall's good, but Martin's tenure at Missouri State was just as impressive as Marshall's has been at Wichita State.
