davis will make a difference at UNC...and don't forget, Bunting red shirted a lot of kids...the cupboard isn't bear in chapel hill.

he'll build some momentum this year with this class, he'll win some games next season he probably isn't supposed to...and then he'll be off to the races.

the state of NC is tough anyway...even if kids in state want to play in state, you got NCSU, UNC, ECU and Wake all vying for their services.

it will still be a state that you can go in to and get good prospects. though i expect Davis to out recruit the other instate schools handily. but getting a bunch of kids from North Carolina won't get him to competing with Miami, VT, Clemson, FSU etc...on a consisten year in and year out basis. he'll still have to recruit the whole region, just like us.

and he'll do it imo
i think so too. UNC is what i would term as a sleeping giant. there is absolutely no reason, other than apathy on the alum and admin's part as to why UNC does not have a top 25 football program year in and year out. they have money, facilities, great campus, huge fan base etc, etc, etc....all the intangibles are there. they just have no results and have made no real commitement to be good in football since Mack Brown left.

i think that changes now. and it doesn't "scare" me as a UT fan...in fact, i'm almost glad for it.

Do you think he would go to UT if everyone registered here ran to his house and told him to go to UT. No other program would show that much support.

Jake you are near there, go knock on his door.

Butch David Strikes, the Vols better get ready to not be able to recruit the state of NC

Based on the fact at Miami he never had to leave Miami/Dade counties to recruit? Okay, then he has the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill triangle covered. Don't think they grow 'um like they do in MIA, so he may actually have to leave the 20 mile radius.

We have always recruited the state of NC well, even when Mack Brown was there and in imo we will continue to do so even if NC starts having a little success which is not going to be any time soon. There are always kids from NC that want to come over the mountain and play in the poweful SEC, and we will get alot of them and with Spurrier at SC he will probably get his share. In my opinion it is Butch Davis that is going to find it hard to recruit the state of NC not the other way around.
