One of the few "Sportswriters" left. Imagine that Marvin has been doing this for 70 years! Unreal. He has received every award possible, but the official Sportswriter of Volnation! I nominate Mr. West for that designation.....

"I am uncomfortable saying this but Steve Spurrier was versatile at Science Hill High in Johnson City. As a senior in 1963, he passed for 16 touchdowns, averaged 22 points in basketball and was 7-0 as a pitcher – and thumbed his nose at Tennessee. OK, the single wing was out of date. Too bad Spurrier wasn't a Tennessee Vol. But it's understandable that SS wasn't cut for the single wing". ... Ironically, the Vols weren't long in scuttling the formation. Thanks Mr. West.
