This thread title isn’t “come get educated on obvious racial issues.“ If you are ignorant to why black people are not ok, it’s on you to figure it out. It’s not difficult. It’s a white problem. You probably have no idea what it’s like to live in a sundown town, or ride on the back of the bus, use a separate bathroom than whites, not being able to eat in restaurant because it’s for whites only. All that ended in the 60’s and MLK. So tell me just why you think this is entirely the fault of whites. How is a black man discriminated against in today’s society? What can a white person do that a black person can’t by law. By the way, when it comes to discrimination, very few people In this world are innocent whites, blacks, Hispanics, or Asians. What is your solution to the racial strife?

The biggest contributor to "racial strife" has been the welfare state which was well intended but has had horrible impacts on minorities and specifically African Americans. Judicial/sentencing practices is an issue that must be addressed along with the prison industrial complex.

The rest of the issues with the AA community must be addressed from within IMO, but headway would be made with the above solutions implemented.

Have a story that sums up my attitude towards this kid...

When my Pappaw was stationed in the Phillipines during the Korean War, there was a Sergeant who lived with his family next door, a stripe or 2 less than Pappaw. His kids kept throwing crap over the fence and into Ps back yard. Weekend came, Pappaw was out back, and here came a rock flying over the fence. Pappaw hollers to the boy in the yard "please stop throwing stuff over in my yard, keep it in yours." The kid got about 2 words of smartazz out of his mouth and Pappaw said " I don't argue with children, send your Daddy over here so I can kick his ass!!! " Kid runs inside. Nobody ever came.

One person killed at opposing Black Lives Matter, pro-police protests in Denver

One person was shot and killed, and two suspects were taken into custody during protests between opposing groups in Denver's Civic Center Park Saturday.

Video of the incident shows one gunshot being fired. Denver Police then quickly cordoned off the scene, giving medical aid to the victim and arresting a possible suspect.

The Denver Post reports that the man who was shot was part of a pro-police "Patriot Rally."

"The incident occurred after a man participating in what was billed a 'Patriot Rally' sprayed mace at another man. That man then shot the other individual with a handgun near the courtyard outside the Denver Art Museum," the newspaper reports.

The Denver Police Department later announced that the shooting is being investigated as a homicide.

One side of the protests was characterized as a "Black Lives Matter Anti-Fascist Soup Drive" on Facebook. Some of the groups attending were Denver Communists, Colorado Socialist Revolution, Anon Resistance Movement, W.I.T.C.H. Denver, H.O.E.S (Help on Every Street), and Front Range Mutual Aid Network.

“We scheduled our action after learning that the militia-fascists had called a ‘patriot muster’ against the Black Lives Matter movement, anti-fascists and Marxists,” a representative for Denver Communists told Westword. “That’s us — guilty as charged and happy to oblige with our presence.”
