Do you think Maryville High School will win the State Championship this year? They are bound to face tougher competition in the playoffs this year since they moved up to 6A. I would just like to hear your opinion.

Good chance. Quarles is an excellent coach that will pull out all the stops. Have to give coaching edge to Maryville +1

I think Farragut gets revenge in the third round...Assuming they can get by Bearden, and Maryville gets by McMinn

As a Dan'l Boone alumnus, I'd like to see the Trailblazers go all the way this year :yahoo: (but I know that won't happen).

Whoa lol. This is where I have to disagree with you. I see my Vikings taking care of business again this Friday:) I think Tennessee High wins State this year.:dance2:

I was at the championship game last year where Maryville lost their first game in 5 years, and it was a very sloppy performance. I've heard this team isn't as good as the team from last year, so I'm betting they won't go all the way, regardless of Quarles' coaching prowess.

Their competition in the semi's and finals will be 10x tougher then who they usually have to go through.

Farragut at Maryville on Friday...

Farragut lost the regular season meeting by 3.
After having a 17 point lead in the first half.

No Farragut will get Maryville in the third round this year cause they will shut down Jacob West but Maryville has got it made for two years.

Daniel Boone and Tennessee are 5A. Maryville is in 6A. So Maryville doesn't have to worry about them.

Colquit is just a junior. They have been playin Buston, a senior in front of him a lot lately. And this team from "BORO" you talk about has played weaker competition than Maryville. Alcoa can beat anyone in the state, even Memphis and Vandy. But according to the 'scouting report' Riverdale doesn't offer maryville anymore of a challenge than anyone else has. Plus if the game is close Maryville has Zach Sharp who has already taken visits to LSU and Alabama as a junior.
