Maryville scored more in one half then they could score in the entire game. When Patton went down, so did the offense and everyone from Maryville knew that. But, Smyrna still couldn't beat Maryville. There is no comparison between the two programs, Maryville will prove that again this year if Smyrna can even make it back.

I don't care what anyone say's, East Tennessee, knoxville area to be more precise, is where Tennessee high school football lives

sorry i was counting alcoa, webb, fulton, catholic, austin east, greenville, kingsport dobyns bennet, cleveland, red bank, oak ridge, and bearden as traditionally good football teams. all east tennessee and all of which could compete with any team in west and middle TN regardless of classification, they just so happen to be in the same classifications, so, they end putting each other out in the playoffs. and that's just the ones off the top of my head that have been in the semi's or beyond in the last 10-15 years. Am I forgetting any?

yes i did forgot about ooltewah who has been pretty good the last couple of years. but i really didnt have to mention anyone outside of knoxville to prove my point

Yo stupid. Maryville plays the 7 other members of their district. There is no getting around that. They then play Alcoa, Webb, and Oak Ridge (ranked high before the season started). Don't know how they could schedule a harder schedule with local teams. Your district is harder than Maryville's this year, no question. But, Maryville is ranked number one. If one of your teams is better, why aren't they ranked first? See you in the championship, be prepared for more of the same.

lol you're really going to include teams like cleveland, bearden, west, webb, fulton, etc? I'm an Ooltewah graduate and am not even that delusional to believe we play better football than they do in middle TN.

it's as simple as looking at the state championship winners and noticing what part of the state they come from.

d1-ensworth. the so called "best team in the state" beat baylor by 7. I saw baylor play in person last year. maryville would have issued the curb stomp treatment.

d2-webb. perhaps the only east tennessee school in all of d2. they were certainly the only et team in the playoffs.

1a-south pittsburg. someone please reach and call them a middle tn team, although i've laughed enough.

2a-signal mountain. congrats middle/west tn, a team in their 2nd or 3rd year of varsity football won the state title.

3a-alcoa. this was like their 874th straight title.

4a-greeneville. i'm seeing a pattern here.

5a-columbia. wwoooo! from where the best football is played!

6a-maryville. if they played anyone they'd get distroyed though. smyrna is the real champion.

I see what you did there. Nice. Didn't catch it at first, though.

signal is a 3a school this year playing in 2a. they moved up because of increased enrollment, to 4a to avoid having to eventually play alcoa in 3a. their enrollment was consistant with a large 2a school last year, so no.

Since 2000, across all classifications: 31 championships from the east including south pitt and the other chatt teams of course. 16 of those from are from 2 teams.
Since 2000, across all classifications: 36 championships from middle tn. One team with more than 3 (and that's MBA with 4).

Murvull folks need to chill. Everybody know's you're team has been dominant. That doesn't mean the rest of east TN gets to hang off your coattail and clam they are superior. It's just not true.

Hey Mr. "Expert"; Ensworth and Maryville had one common opponent last year: Smyrna. Ensworth beat Smyrna (this was before Smyrna's stud linebacker, who did not play against Maryville, was injured) 30 - 14. Maryville beat Smyrna 23 -21. Does this mean that Ensworth would have beat Maryville? Of course not - only idiots think common opponent comparisons of this sort are valid to determine team superiority. Your "curb-stomp" analysis however, clearly demonstrates your ignorance regarding this topic.:whistling:
