And I just got the Masters ticket email I've gotten every single year. "We regret to inform you...." Lol

I really wonder what the success rate is. I'm 0 for however many years.

it really is random. I declined the wed tickets about 20 yrs ago (stupid!) but got picked about 13 yrs ago then picked for this years rounds. Who knows - I may never get to go again. Only thing I can say is apply every year to ever day for max tix.

Got lottery tickets first-year I tried in 07. Haven't gotten them since.

I grew up 15 miles from the course, so went a lot as a kid. Was there on Saturday in 86.

Haven't been near enough times as an adult.

So after years without success I received an email telling me I've been selected in the Master's lottery. I was selected to purchase four tickets for the Monday practice round. I'm really excited and never thought I was going to get them after the last few years of disappointment.

I have a question for the expericenced patron. The website says that you still have to fill out an application and be selected for future years. I thought, no really sure why, that once you were selected you received tickets each year after as long as you kept buying and never did anything to upset anyone from the tournament. Can someone elaborate?

Not sure where you live but just to let you know, if you stay in a hotel it will be expensive. The most expensive is in anything labeled August but you can look a little farther out like Aiken, SC. Still, its gonna be pricey. Begin looking now.

One option we used this year was using Hilton Honors points. Ended up finding a Embassy Suites in south Augusta using about 30k points for $140 for the night. That's a bargain. In the end, The Masters is a good time to use any of those points you might have. tmyk.

Not only do I wonder what the success rate is, but I wonder how many tickets are available and how many apps they receive. They will of course never tell.

I've also tried even requesting different amounts. I've tried the max everyday, or just 2 or 3. I even tried 1 this year, for Wednesday.

Yeah I got practice round tickets the first year in the lottery and haven't gotten them since. I've been subsequently for the week but only because I knew someone playing.

To be honest, I enjoy going for the practice round much better. At least when I went it was a lot less crowded, more laid back, and you could take photos, etc

We couldn't even see the last group come in on Sunday so fortunately our friend got us into the clubhouse to watch, but otherwise we'd never be able to see how the end of the tournament played out

I went with a co-worker in 2013, he had 4 Monday tickets..I was able to trade a former neighbor (he goes every year) that runs a corporate event venue, 2 of the Monday tickets for 2 for Tuesday so my buddy and I got 2 days.

Chuck my former neighbor also let us use his house for the few days we were there, so it was an awesome trip...

Augusta is almost too good to be true, when you walk the course

I actually ran into a Vol at Amen corner last year who said they won the Sunday tickets on the lottery. I called them unicorns since people claim that Sunday lottery tickets exist but no one actually sees or hears one.

Agree with those who've been there, it's a very cool experience - I was 10 feet away from the hole on 18 when Sergio won in a playoff last year.

Sergio won this year. Danny Willett won last year.
