According to NFL.com the Falcons are trading Schaub to the Texans for the seventh pick in the second round

Good deal for Schaub...I guess Petrino thinks he can bring out the best in Vick...

7th pick in the 2nd round is great value as well....

Schaub may turn out great, but it's amazing to get that kind of value back for a backup QB.

They said there may be additional compensation. The specualtion is that Schaub will be the starter in Houston. I hope he is readdy to run for his life

Hard to believe they unload David Carr for a guy that hasn't really had much of a chance to prove anything.

That's pretty amazing. As much time as Vick spends hurt in a season, I didn't see this. Was Schaub a free agent or soon to be?

Who's the two guy now?

Schaub was a free agent (restricted I think). Unless the Falcons go pick somebody up, the #2 guy is now DJ Shockley.

I know, I know...

Is it just me or is Schaub the most overhyped backup qb in recent memory? I'm not saying he won't be a fine NFL qb...I'm just saying he hasn't done a thing yet.

The update is that the Falcons and Texans will swap first round picks and then the Falcons get the Texans 2nd round picks this year and next year if the Texans sign Schuab to an extension.

No - It isn't just you. He a quality backup playing behind a QB that a lot of people like to knock which makes him a popular guy for no apparent reason.

I still think Carr would have been the way to go. There was a reason NFL scouts unanimously said Carr is a good QB. It's because he's good. The Texans still haven't elevated themselves from expansion team status. No QB is going to succeed there right now, until they start building good teams.

My sentiments exactly.
