In defense of Duke, if the twins, Kelly, and Curry play to their potential and if Rivers matures and plays to his potential by the end of the season, they have the ability to make a deep run.

Also, don't sleep on Alex Murphy. If Coach K can groom that kid by the end of the season, he will be able to match up any other forward in the nation.

Sure, Coach K has enough talent to win the NC this year if things start to come together. They need those 1-2 last pieces to drop ala Brian Zoubek becoming a monster in 2009.

But right now, there are more than 7 teams better than them, in my opinion.

Thus far there is not a single top ten team that has looked and played like a top ten team for forty minutes.

Talent wise, UK and UNC lead the pack; but, they are not playing up to that level (the KU-UK game looked like rec league ball).

1. Who does Duke have to match up with an athletic swingman? Harrison Barnes, Kidd-Gilchrist, etc.

2. What is going to happen to S. Curry when he's forced to stick an opposing point guard who is actually a point guard?

3. How is Duke going to play against other top 10 teams now that they have arguably the slowest, least athletic front court they've had in a decade?

Duke is yet to show me a convincing win over a top 10 team, and the deficiencies in their back court are glaring.

Duke is going to Ohio State tomorrow night. A. Craft is going to eat Curry's lunch.

Ok first off who in the top ten have they played. So how can they prove to you something. lMichigan and Kansas are both good ball clubs. Second you are talking about the backcourt which is your 1 and 2 and that is arguably their two strongest players. They are running more of a point guard by committee. I agree Rivers needs to mature and cut out his turnovers but no one shoots the ball as well as those 2 and Dawkins when he plays back there. They do need a wing to step up but they are currently grooming two of them but thus far they have held a bigger Tim Hardaway Jr wing who is a very good player in check so they have showed positive signs. Barnes will be a problem and until Calipari can actually win an NC with his one and doners I am not gonna sit and worry about Kentucky, although they are immensely talented. As always Duke needs some cards to fall in place for them as I believe all teams have to when they make their run, but as far as talent and togetherness goes I dont see more than 5 teams better than them and I know they can beat anyone on any given night.

Ta Da.

Duke gets crushed by a real elite 8 team by 22. Rivers' game was on last night, but the rest of their back court is still suspect.

Duke has holes.
