Maybe just a rumor but...

I've been a fan since the early seventies. I was watching them win championships long before you were born. I'm a fan of all Bama sports.

Another quote for you:

“We’re staying,” Terry Saban told The Wall Street Journal’s Sharon Terlep in an interview last week. “We’re not going anywhere.”

I don't doubt he stays but it comes back to the ole "what do you expect him/her to say" question. No one says I'm leaving for another job before the season is over (except Bobby P) especially when the current coach is still employed.

Texas has something that appeals to any big coach, and that's money. Say what you want, but if Malzahn is offered the right price, he'll leave in a heartbeat.

Yes and you have no vested interest at all, eh Bammer?

There is nothing that Auburn can offer, as a program, that isn't trumped by several others, many of whom are in Auburn's region.

Auburn is a good program. But it has some issues working against it that others simply don't have.

I acknowledge it is tough for Auburn existing in the same state with UA, but what are the other "issues working against it..."?

I'm not going to be the Alabama coach

Whenever you aren't the state school, that works against you in recruiting. But Auburn's location doesn't simply run it up against Bama for recruits, they have to deal with UGA, FSU, and Florida as well.

I would explain why the little theory you're hinting at is stupid, but the very fact that you are hinting at it at all means there is no chance you'll understand.

So yeah... Saban's gone.

Geeze, get a grip. I'm usually one of your fans.

I was just empathizing with those whose team is on top and looking at having their staff poached.

It's been a long time since one of my teams was in that position, but I'm at least trying.

Fair enough. Maybe I should appreciate the fact that my team losing a non-coaching, mid-level staffer is news. I suppose it could be worse.

Sorry, but I don't believe any rumors that haven't been confirmed by SBV or the insiders on TOS.

Well, should you (once again) get to the state where things have been sucky for far too many years, you too will discover the fun of paranoid conspiracies. You know, The Forces Against You start quietly luring away the seeming nobodies, and then a few bigger names, and then...

This is what you do when you don't have a ton of press for your team, either positive (you guys) or not so much (FSU quarterback stuff.)

Enjoy the ride. :hi:
