Maybe the loss to Ole Miss was a good thing?

Losing a late game on the road to a good SEC team isn't a shock but it wasn't a good thing either. I do think the Florida win at Alabama made a #1 far less likely. 2-0 for us and 2-0 for Florida to finish was going to land them on the 1 line. 1-1 for each of us will as well. That win at Alabama was massive for them.

By most measures we’re a top 5 team. Based on that alone we have final 4 potential

For those who lack perspective, your negativity is overwrought. We lost to a good team on the road at the buzzer. A week ago today Florida was coming off a worse loss at Georgia. The OP is highlighting perhaps there is a silver lining in how the team responds. As Florida did

Try to enjoy the ride

Don't know that much about hoops but since Brakefield couldn't be stopped in that stretch and Ole Miss was 0-8 from 3 in the 2nd half - could a few minutes of zone have helped?

Yes those darn officials are being paid of by Soros.
I don't know if it is Soros or not. I don't think they are being paid by anybody. I have seen games, both men and women of which there appears to be a bias flair to them. I not talking just Tennessee as you can pick a game and apply it. Not all games, but enough to know officiating can determine the winner.
The game is moving way to quick for officials and they are not as good as they use to be. Check out Doug Shows, he has been around for years. Tennessee is 1 - 3 and one game won was one that got away. FL, Miss, and Ky pathetic all losses.
Figure it out. Should not be calling a game.

I would agree, but I think it is not something they work on maybe? Also, you don’t have to be great at it to run it for a few possessions to make them change the approach on offense.

IMHO, it is sort of like changing pitchers in baseball. Brakefield was in rhythm and a zone would force them to change things up. If not a zone, they double/trap when he gets a touch.

A change in defense is always a good way to slow down what the other team is doing, break a run, force them to take a timeout, etc.

This sounds like the logic employed by corporate downsizing types … don’t look at this loss as an ending. Instead, look at it as the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in your journey.

Don't need any copium. Nothing about that loss to OMU was good. Not only did we lose a really great chance at a historic #1 seed that almost assuredly would have made our path to the final 4 easier, but we stand a chance now to lose a double buy in the SEC tournament.
Having to play an extra game going into the NCAAT would suck basket balls.

Who the hell is OMU?

Coach Barnes said the team played soft . . . And gave up a bunch of “and one’s.” Six to be exact. I will go what with he said . . . And say before the game it was discussed on the Vol Network that Ole Miss was not statistically a great rebounding team (next to last in the SEC maybe??). We lost on the whole and specifically because we let them rebound much better than they normally do. Specifically, we got the stop we needed at the end . . . And gave up a put back rebound. No way to spin it - it was a poor effort and Coach Barnes called it out.

This is a better than average team. A good team doesn't play from behind as this team has 75 percent of the time. I look for them to lose in the second round of the SEC tournament.
Seeing as how we likely won’t be playing in the second round of the SEC tournament, I’m going to say you’re wrong.
