Well obviously a loss to Savannah St. would have been worse. but we didn't lose and we got a lot of guys valuable playing time that is going to pay dividends for us next year. think long term.

But you don't know it was gonna be a W, just like you don't know the NCAA would have been 1 and done.

The effect of being to 7 straight NCAA tournaments, more than any other active SEC team, pay huge dividends in recruiting.

Not many schools can boast that, and being able to is huge. It means TV, which means exposure to recruits. By being a constant in the NCAA tournament you become a household name, and that's always a good thing with recruits. You get to that level and you don't need to worry nearly as much about getting guys minutes for development. You'll bring in more guys like stokes' and Nichols who can come in and are ready to contribute.

Long term, the NCAA is always the better path. Look at USCjr, want deep in back to back NIT recently and are still bottom dwellers, it did nothing for them long term.

NCAA>NIT everyday of the week no matter what.
