Maymon reminds me of...

I just smile seeing Maymon succeed. There were several posters on this forum that rode him hard last year calling him wasted scholly and chest beating about how he would never be a contributor. Glad the kid is meeting the potential that was seen in him to bring him to Knoxville in the first place.

I never said he was a wasted scholly, but I was hard on him. Not because I thought he was a failure, but because certain posters made him out to be greater than what he really was. It's obvious he's worked hard in the offseason on conditioning and shooting. He deserves all of the praise he's getting right now.

You were hard on him because other posters made him out to be greater than he was? How does that make sense? Shouldn't you be hard on the poster and not the player?

He deserves plenty of praise for the first few games this season.

It's a real character barometer of our posters to see him go from being derided mercilessly to being lauded and compared to NBA greats in less than a year.

I was simply trying to end the stupidity that some posted last year about him coming in for Tennessee and being an instant game changer. Also, the silliness many were saying about him handling the ball around the perimeter. It turns out that neither panned out last year, but he worked this offseason and is now capable of being those things everyone wanted last year.

It was pretty obvious watching him last year that he had the body to play. He also was really really aggressive around the basket to try and score and he did a good job of finding those shots last year, they just didn't fall much of the time

He is a focal point of the team this year and is not afraid to jack up shots because there is less fear of being benched.

He was upset with the staff for not trusting him more. So, he decided he would try to be a hero when he had the ball and hardly ever played within the team. This year it's obvious he is taking on a leadership mentality.

Blair works. I was expecting Barkley... long ways to go before Barkley. Was amazing the other day though. Hope he continues to dominate

For people who really watch the NBA, He is a spitting image of Jason Maxiell of the Pistons

His improvement in the free throw game is unbelievable. After last year, I wrote Maymon off basically because of his inability at the free throw stripe. He must have worked hard this summer. He has bought in to Coach Martin, and that is a great sign.

He's not throwing up the "hot" ball now....it's dead when it hits the rim. Somebody showed him a little secret.

Didn't someone once say on here that he would be no good, and never amount to anything here? Can't remember who it was though.
