Maymon to Redshirt Confirmed

The reasons you had given before was improving his draft stock, I think there is as good a chance that I improve my draft stock. LOL Now getting college girl booty, that would be enough to get me to stay another yr.

Don't think that was the only reason given, but maybe I don't recall. I just never saw Europe as really something that he'd seriously consider.

His and his fathers goal is NBA, the numbers say going to Europe don't help that. Tyler smith, Lofton, jajuan, Chism etc all we're thought of as possible NBA at a point, went Europe and haven't sniffed the NBA since.

Maymon will be better served returning, going through the NBA stuff, making a D league team and trying to get a call up from there. He's close with his family, VERY close and moving half way across the world isn't something that interests him.

Add in the fact that he loves Martin and UT, and that next years team could be very special and it all added up to him returning.

No big surprise that he won't be back this year. I'm glad he has decided to come back to UT next year though and not go pro. Provided Stokes comes back too (and there's no reason he shouldn't), this team should get to the NCAA tourney at the minimum. If Martin doesn't get this team to the dance next year barring major injuries then he should be given his walking papers.

FSU is such a random school for someone as talented as him to go to though. I guess it is his parents alma mater though. Man I wish Landry and him got to be really good friends...we can all wish.

His parents went there so he's familiar with it and they've been recruiting him since birth hahaha.

Cal will pull Wiggins and UK will go undefeated. Maybe then the NCAA will finally bring down the hammer.

I live in Lexington. I have a right to be bitter about this. :D

Shocking. Best decision all around though. If Stokes returns we should have a pretty solid team next year.

We should be super strong inside next year but again do we have anyone who can shoot from the outside and make it.If you watch any peckerwood school on tv and they got guys making shoots from all over and our best shooter who plays too much trys hard but a step slow is shooting what 25%.Great second half against Memphis for the team but they had 2 point guards better than any of ours. And buy the way where did our point guard disappear to that night

I think stokes will be back. Having maymon and hubbs on the floor with him will only free things up.

Those guys got stuck in Europe because they aren't good enough to play in the NBA and Maymon isn't likely, either. He needs to have a solid, injury-free season in order to get interest from good European clubs.

I would be shocked if Stokes goes pro. Playing with Maymon can only help to increase his stock, IMO. It allows him more versatility, especially if Yemi continues to develop.
