McBee

McBee's friggin awesome. I can see comparisons of a young Starbury or A.I. coming quickly.
He's just so fluent playing against this top-flight competition. I really think this kid is going to do special things.
John Wall better watch out or Skylar's going to swoop in and be drafted ahead of him next year.

I hope this entire post was a joke. Who is Starbury? How can you compare a 2* player from TN to Allen Iverson? And last but not least, if Skylar McBee gets drafted ahead of John Wall I will cut my penis off.

Yes, it was a obvious joke.
I'm flabbergasted at the amount of people who don't know who Starbury is.

Im pretty sure his jerseys are 3 dollars at Marshalls

I'm pretty sure he was a surpreme talent back in the day.
I know of the guys who couldn't pay the NBA or any other brand to make their jersey.
I guess everyone can't be as awesome as me.

I can see it now when the all time greats are mentioned: Magic, Robertson, Thomas, Stockton, Payton, Nash, Kidd, McBee

So this is common talk on other threads? A local kid turns down a scholarship in California to stay in Knoxville and walk-on, so that these kind of fans can ridicule him?
Wow, this is quite a "Tennessee Fan'' site.
McBee may not ever start for the Vols, but I admire the kid for following his heart, and going after his dream.
He's a good shooter, and his teammates respect him -- that's amazing considering he's only a walk-on.

How's that for a contribution?

I wouldn't exactly consider him a walkon since it's a pretty solid bet that he's going on scholarship next year and he's pretty much on scholarship this year due to the HOPE and all that.

I'd say that paying for part of one year at UT is better than taking a scholarship from Santa Clara if you wanna play ball.

How can someone who's not a Tennessee fan question whether Tennessee fans are Tennessee fans?

...Tennessee fans.

As I read the thread, the opinions expressed seemed very supportive of this kid. I find it interesting that you have a problem with what you perceive is unfair criticism of some people (i.e., this young man); yet you have no problem being unfairly critical of folks in your blog (even going so far as to make up facts to support your point of view). Some people might call that hypocritical.

Every vol fan is glad he is coming with the exception of a couple moronic posters and the vast majority have said nothing but positive things but the reason some people are getting annoyed is because every other post is about how McBee is going to be the next this or the next that and it finds its way into every thread. People are attacking the homers by going after their icon, its nothing personal on the kid.

Wow, it's not too often you see Griff outside if a thread spamming his blog. Not too surprised to see him post more uneducated, hypocritical nonsense.

95% of Vol fans have no problem with McBee.

and 4.9% don't have a problem with him, we are just realistic and realize he probably won't warrant a scholarship. As with most of my comments about the basketball program these days, I hope I am dead wrong and the kid is All SEC

I agree that no one should think that McBee is going to step in and start dominating the SEC. In my original post, I was simply noting that he was quicker and defended better than I thought he would prior to actually seeing him. He can serve a purpose for UT as a shooter; however, I certainly don't see an All-SEC performer in him. I just think he was better than what I thought prior to seeing him in action.
