Could have been the shot legends are made of if they could have finished with a W. My daughter was crying she was so happy. I'll still never forget that shot and what could have been. McBee's 3 kept us in the game proud of the kid from Rutledge. A true VFL! GO VOLS!

It was a great shot, but our team was manhandled from the opening tip. Hopefully a learning experience for the boys.

Vent away, i made myself a few stiff drinks to ease the pain. The sad thing is i was almost expecting it.

He's a legend in my book. He's hit two incredible shots now that will be remembered for a long time ( at least I know I will).
He may not be the most consistent, but damn it, I love having Skylas McBee on this team.

Your book is short on legends then.

McBee will never be a legend. Ever.

Reading and comprehending what you read is not your strong suit is it? There's a if in the opening sentence. If that shot keeps us alive and we make the tourney yeah i think that shot would never be forgotten by the living Vol.

Allan Houston - Legned
Ernie Grunfield - Legend
Bernard King - Legend
Dale Ellis - Legend
Chris Lofton - Legend

Making a prayer in the SEC quarterfinal to tie or even win for that matter does not make a legend. Kudos to him for making the shot though.

Tony White
McBee shot versus Kansas

And speaking of legends, will McBee's stache approach the exalted status of Dyron Nix's hair in Vol history?

138 posts and you're the expert? Stfu mcBee is a great kid, and he came along way considering he's small and from Rutledge, not exactly an NBA farm over there. Quit being such a hater dousche.

Freaking amazing. Me and dad were cheering for the vols and screaming as McBee shot it. Don't know why, but sometimes you are watching a game that doesnt involve your team , and you just naturally just seem to lean toward one of them. Great shot. Great kid.

Technically, since Mcbee's accompolishments are verifiable, they are not legendary. However, a kid who turns down a scholarship to a lesser school, chooses to walk on to the UT basketball team, pay his own way to school, rides the pine for most of the games, with seconds remaining on the clock against a great Kansas team, hits a miracleous three to win the game as a freshman - this is the stuff legends are made of. He is a cinderella story and the type of student/athelete that college is all about. He is what winning is all about.

Awesome post my friend!! I know McBee is not the best player we've ever had, but I'll take a kid like that on my team anyday. He gives everything he has on every play. I know it takes more than players like him to win, but I'll take a McBee on this team every year. And you said the rest basically.

It would have been an awesome achievement for this team to pull off an NCAA bid after such a horrid start, but they almost did it. Now let's go win the NIT and make it all worth something.

GBO!!!
