Great response, that really clears it all up for me.

No problem, next time I will type a thesis.

:eek:k:

As comptroller he let 1.5 billion go to NASA to manufacture and test a Mars Rover that will never leave our atmosphere.

He was too busy pushing his books....

:good!:

Are you kidding me? The GAO doesn't have the power to spend tax money, it's Congress that does that. The GAO audits Congress, i.e. tells them every year how broke the U.S. is.

Dude, you're making zero sense right now. GAO is useful and we need it to audit Congress. David Walker, who ran the GAO and has overseen the audit of many many years of federal budgets, has broken down precisely what we need to do to get out of our fiscal mess. Aside from security threats, this is THE biggest issue facing the country. In short, we must both raise taxes AND cut spending if we ever hope to pay down the debt. And that applies EVEN IF we pare back social security and Medicare. Bottom line, if we don't get disciplined, enjoy watching your grandkids learn Chinese.

The problem is that government is an absolute failure on every level.

It would not be chinese.......

That is silly as Walker saying the United States is comparable to Rome......
