McDonalds All American Game Scrimmage

Before people focus on the starting lineups even in this scrimmage .. remember that Mia Pauldo and Jaida Civil arrived after playing in The Throne National Championship.

the beautiful thing about CKC's system is there's no need to spend all summer speculating about who will be a starter. they will all start at some point. CKC doesn't just have one starting lineup. : ) i do think there has to be one main PG though. like spencer was for us this year. right now? it's boyd until someone outplays her in practice next year.

Why? Tradition?

CKC stated many times before the season started that she'd like to have multiple PGs on the court at all times.

the importance of on the floor communication is an important requirement for success (see Ohio State vs TN). A point guard traditionally has that responsibility.

Being both vocal and respected. if you wonder about point guards, watch the McDonald practice game where few normal point guards took that responsibility on an up and down one pass game. Pauldo, IMO was the only player performing as a point guard in that practice game.

Everybody else seemed like they was looking to score for themselves.

Your not going to get much out of All Star game play. You did see that Civil had a couple steals could've had a couple more if she hadn't been called for questionable fouls. Pauldo passed and set people up to score. She could've taken 15 shots she had the ball in her hands first, but she played the team game and kept the East in it when some players were taking questionable shots. Prawl just really watched other players shoot she doesn't usually take bad shots did jack one up when she saw no one was willing to pass the ball except Pauldo.

Saw the overtimes of the game. West won by two. East was down by four with 15 seconds and Pauldo hit what looked like a three and got fouled. Ref said foot was on the line so only a two. She tried and missed the free throw, but the West got the rebound and ran out the last six seconds. They win in double overtime although the second ovetime was cut to one minute. If the regular game is anything like the scrimmage is going to be a lot of fun.

Jada is the type of defender that irritates the crap out of opponents, often forcing them to make mistakes out of frustration. She will be perfect in Kim's system, and she and Cooper combined are going to be in many opponents' nightmares after they face those two next season.
