Matter of fact, I can only think two true PGs that played here right off. Lawson and Marciniak. I know we have had others, but I’m talking true difference makers who could run the offense. Either way, we need a lot of help and it appears that we don’t have enough reinforcements coming our way.....[/QUOTE]

Kellie Jolley not a true point guard?

I can't imagine she would given her sister was already at Tennessee. I'm sure that Holly had an offer out, and Kellie confirmed that she was still interested when she took over the program.

Ok i`m with you Thank You !

Are you not a Kellie fan? How do you think she is doing thus far? I’m just curious...
I am a fan of whoever Coaches the lady Vols. Therefore yes I am her fan. But it’s obvious she is able to coach up good players such as Key, Davis, Burrell but this only proves how bad of a coach HW was. But it’s easy for a good coach to coach up players like these 3. So far in 2 recruiting classes she has no one of these 3 talent. Recruiting has to get better. And I know this may bother some posters but there is no player local that can now or in the next many years help get us back to where we are SUPPOSE to be!

How do we know how talented the next class is if they haven’t gotten to play. Key wasn’t Key til Kelly got her hands on her AND she was in the 40s like some of our other players.

I’m not arguing at all and i get needing more talent i think that’s the argument here. We need top talent yes but i guess my thing is I wanna be where we are SUPPOSED to be but i also am a realist and realize where we were just two years ago! Takes time... Sorry to say. Even with All Americans (Vic had two or three all americans this year too) it’s gonna take Vic some time reverse the texas trend.

What do you mean by no player local to get them to championships isn’t cambridge like at the top of her class and she is right in TN back yard?

Local as in Knox area.

Ah i think Cambridge can make a difference and she is close enough

Anyways it’ll be exciting to see the 22’ class i think this NCAA tourney will be big for recruiting and having what is considered to be one of the best shooters in the class starting off at 33 is not too bad. I could def see her moving up if she becomes more selfish which is against Pissott’s nature and the way she was taught to play ball.

I’m excited!

I’m looking towards next year and it scares me.

It should. Unless Rennia just loves college enough to stay another year, or Kellie hits the lottery in the transfer portal, next year's team is in serious trouble.

Kellie got some nice complimentary pieces in recruiting, but fans here are greatly overestimating their immediate impact...

I am totally happy with Harper and she is here to stay for at least three years to come and we'll see how she does given time. Walz averaged ten losses per season his first ten years at Louisville including a 14 and 18 season. Just the last three years did he get under five losses a season. He is a coach that recruits a lot better than his team performs.

You should double check your math on your very arbitrary statistic. He averaged 9 losses in his first ten seasons, and 26 wins FYI...

It just makes it easier for Kellie fans to say she is only going to recruit girls that fit her system. Wrong she is offering the top 25 kids they are just choosing other schools and coaches.

You will quickly discover "her" player is just code for the best player she could convince to come here....

It is 9.3 per season and in 13 seasons 0 National championships. He sucks with top talent and only minions like you think he is a great coach. He is never coming to Tennessee because the majority of fans don't want him and for anyone that does he is already coaching at Louisville just change teams and we'll all be better off.

You don't know that just an opinion you have. You have no idea how any of the players coming in will fit into the program or what they will provide. You also don't know what the final roster will look like and have no idea if the team is in trouble next season or not. They do not look to be in trouble a lot of SEC teams lose a lot more top players than we do at least if seniors are leaving. We want be able to determine any team until we see the final rosters and how players have developed over the summer.

You don't round up when the decimal is less than 5. Math is hard...
I changed it from ten to 9.3 not rounded off exact figure. I should've just took nine years and left off the five loss season and got it up to almost 11

So your saying if they win with one top 20 player it would justify their other recruits rankings? The point of that post is that you need five or six top ten players to win a title now your saying if they do it one is ok.

While I'm not a big fan of his, his career record as a head coach has been pretty darn good and has been on an upward trajectory.

2 losses in the championship game (to UConn)
1 other appearance in the Final Four
2 Elite Eight
4 Sweet Sixteens
2 Second Rounds
1 really bad season

That's a record that Tennessee fans would have taken with Holly and now Coach Harper going forward in a heartbeat over 14 seasons.

There is no shame in not winning a National Championship over the last 13 years with the dominance of UConn over that timeframe.

His overall now is good although he wins with talent and sucks as a coach. He was a free throw away from losing to Tennessee Martin. Any coach that had his first six seasons at Tennessee would be fired wouldn't get a chance to continue. Holly did better than he did first six seasons and she got fired and people were calling for her to get fired three years before it happened. Also I don't know if Coach Harper can survive not winning a title in 14 seasons that might be a really tough thing to do at Tennessee.

You can and should add Jada Boyd to that list she was the Top player coming out of VA that year and a five star an elite player by Dan Olson. So NC State has elite players on that team.

So look at her first four seasons and compare them to what Coach Harper is doing in in her first two seasons and see how many people on here are already complaining. I am almost certain if Coach Harper had done what Dawn did in her first four seasons she wouldn't get to continue to coach here. That has been my entire point to the posters here it takes time to determine where a coach is going. You can see come of the better success stories now had very rough starts.

Not as many as you and the other poster said they needed to win the title and they are a long way from winning anything. Tennessee has a few five stars and according to him we have no chance. if you don't have three or four top ten players at least seems to be what you must have.
