you are going to save and invest enough money as a mcdonald's store manager to afford to buy a franchise netting $500K a year? what's your return going to be? 5,000% a year? you'd make a lot more money as a hedge fund manager. i suggest changing professions.

I would probably save the $14 if I'm capped at $2,000. As a young person, the only reason I would need health insurance is for severe emergencies, and I assume that wouldn't cover anything.

I will break it down for you.
Crew makes min+
Hourly Manager min+ $1.25 1year ( The uneducated managers never pass this)
Salary Manager $25,000- 35,000k ( Need business degree) 4 years out of college
Store Manager 50,000k + car, phone
District manager 75,000k
Area Supervisor 100,000k
Then you own your own store after working a good 30 years with MCD.
Its very plausible if you have a straight head on your shoulders and Corporation sees that you are an educated individual.

I have a very long path ahead considering I only have been able to save up only 3% of what I need to own one right now. But the majority of my money will come from becoming a district manager and up.

i think you underestimate things like: getting married, children, college, etc will have on your savings. most people making 100K a year for 30 years don't save millions. seems to me you'd be better of in another job, if you truly are extremely bright.

you might want to look into walmart or costco. managers there can easily make over 100K, many over 200k.

O btw, I just want to point out, Yes at least 85% of the majority of McDonald's employees are idiots and illegals and they depend on the government for everything. The other 15% of them you never see because they are in the back office or just have moved out of the field and into a corporation building. But not all of us, many are just looking for their first job and need the cash anyway possible, for most of the employees this is their career for life, flipping paddies and taking orders from even more idiotic people. lol
