MCU phase 4 rumor and discussion thread

I’m not saying you are ignorant but if you think that 22 movies has really covered all the best stuff from 80 years of Marvel Comics than yeah... you don’t know that much about comics.

Stan And Jack’s 110 issues FF has enough top quality material for 5-6 movies alone.

But off the top of my head:
Secret Wars
Galactus (Dons right)
Doom stealing the Surfer’s powers
A negative Zone story with Annihilus
House of M
Mutant Massacre
Inferno
X-Tiniction Agenda
Age of Apocalypse
Sinister Six
Maximum Carnage
Secret Invasion
Kree/Skrull War
Plenty of KANG the Conqueror stories

And that is just he power house characters.
Plenty of X-Men stories they could tell. The trick is telling them right. I'm really hoping Fox doesn't screw up Dark Phoenix. Absolutely one of the best comic stories ever IMO. I was always a Claremont fan.

Several FF stories that deserve to be told correctly. Fox totally botched the FF.

Avengers, you could do Kree/Skrull War. Seems like it's been set up already with Captain Marvel. What was the story where the Avengers fought the Sh'iar? Galactic Storm, or something, I think. Plus you could do a Masters of Evil story, or Korvac, or develop something around the Celestial Madonna storyline. Maybe something around the Thunderbolts premise.

Spider-Man has one of the greatest rogue's gallery in comics so you can always find stories there. They could even do the whole clone thing if they wanted.

And they could easily continue on with GotG, even if they switch out characters. They could bring in Nova, or Quasar, or even find a way to introduce characters like Moondragon, or Phylla-Vell.

The Marvel vaults are far from empty. There's plenty of good stories to be told. The key is telling them well. You just have to have the right scripts.

Anyone remember Kurt Busiek's Marvels series. They could even do a movie from that perspective.

I forgot to mention The Externals movie in my previous post and the fact they can always make Daredevil and Punisher movie properties again.

Disney service will get my money for Mandilorean and Marvel shows out of the gate.
Not one person is getting the Disney service for those two. We all know Marvel shows are worse than a pile of crap. Everyone is getting the streaming service for the movies and old Disney shows like Chip and Dale's rescue rangers, Darkwing Duck, and old school Mickey Mouse shorts.

Memory escapes me, but what was the one where the Hulk travelled to the future to face his evil future self? Something like Future Imperfect or something? His evil self was called Maestro, I think?

Yep, Future Imperfect. Another great story they haven’t done.

I did like some Dark Wing Duck back in the day.

That would make a great show for streaming service.

If they open up multiple timelines and show it from the perspective of WWII through the 70s that would be awesome.

Original DuckTales for the win!

Moon Knight. There's a property that has some movie potential. It's like The Mummy meets Batman with a little other craziness thrown in.

Evolutionary War. The High Evolutionary is another villain that could be brought into the MCU.

Hell, if you wanted to go kid-friendly, you could do Power Pack.

I really don't get anyone thinking Marvel's vaults are almost empty. Not even close.

Newt, do you troll because you enjoy it or do you have an actual point to make? I'm just curious because if you've read comics, you know there are more stories to be told.
Are there more stories to be told? Sure. Are they as good as whats been on screen? Not so much. I love Galactus. I love Kraven's story when he buries spiderman. Xmen had some great arcs but i just dont see marvel being able to reboot it. Secret wars wont translate well i dont think. Im just giving my opinion and i am certainly not trolling. Everything has a law of diminishing returns. You guys get so bent out of shape like im kicking Cap America in the balls. Its crazy.

There are plenty of great stories. If met with great scripts(which is really where the challenge is), they could translate just as well(maybe even better) as the stories that have already been told.

I'm not sure how connecting to the overall MCU they could be, but other properties that could possibly translate to the big screen are Ka-Zar and the Savage Land, Devil Dinosaur, or Killraven. They could delve into horror with Brother Voodoo, Werewolf By Night, a Ghost Rider reboot, Morbius the Living Vampire, a Blade reboot, or even a Man-Thing reboot.

Sure great scripts are essential, see James Gunn. Im just saying whats left is either not as intriguing, constitutes minor characters or has already been baterdized by other studios. There is a reason Marvel went the way they did out of the gates, they took the biggest stuff and ran with it. A lot of what's left is more tv show level than blockbuster movie but they will keep trying im sure and the masses will eat it up.

And you don't think they could do just as grand a story with Galactus? Or Kang? Or Secret Invasion combined with the Kree/Skrull War? Or the Annihilation Wave?

When they first started this shared Universe with a build up to the first Avengers movie I was hopeful they pull that off. If you would have asked me in 2008 if they would be able to do the Infinity Gauntlet in movies I would have said no way. It’s too big and involves too many characters to do it justice.

I was wrong.

They wouldn’t do a direct adaptation of 1984 Secret Wars just like they didn’t do a direct adaptation of Civil War or even Infinity Gauntlet. It would probably be something more in line with the 2012 Secret Wars.

My faith is Feige is very high.

Personally I was disappointed with Civil War. I thought it was way too early to make it, and since they haven't shown people in the gubment against mutants yet I didn't think they could tell a good story for Civil War. I was correct because Cap v Iron Man then Cap going into hiding was the only thing that was close to the source material of that story line.

Would love to see galactus but ff already ruined him. Dont know if marvel could reboot him and who fights him? We already done the big team up vs a mega villian. Kree skrull war? Meh. Two alien races fighting each other for millinea...pass. Now if fox hadnt ruined the xmen mutant massacre with the morlocks would have been cool.

Gosh I bet you pissed all over the Nolan Batman’s since they were already ruined by Schumacher.

It’s been 12 years since the FF2 and probably by another 5 before Marvel gets to a Galactus story... at the earliest. Is close to 20years enough breathing room.

That last FF reboot doesn’t count. It was forgotten before it even came out.

Any movies made about the X-Men and F4 before Marvel getting their rights back do not matter. Both properties are starting over fresh with the MCU and in no way will anything made now have anything to do with their previous movies. In no way has Galactus been ruined by appearing in a movie 12 years ago that most people have forgotten about.
