Meachum....Will he live up to the hype?

Will Robert Meachum live up to the hype this year or is he still a year or two away from success?

I heard that Dave Hooker called him the MVP of Monday's practice.

If he stays healthy then he will be the best receiver on the team.

I think that Meachum will be a star on this team. But we have to remember that he has yet to play a single game for the Vols. If I'm wrong great, but we'll see how he does against the best the SEC has to offer (except LSU).

If one of the QBs doesn't step up, it won't matter how good Meachem is. I'm already bracing for about 10 swing passes/screens per game.

Up the middle, again and again and again.  Johnny Ball lives on.

isn't that how the Vols won the 1998 National Championship?

Maybe the QB can hand it to him. I don't think well be good throwing. When they do it will only be the fade pattern.

Yes that is how we won an NC allvol, but at the same time we had a lot of breaks go our way too. We have not had the personnel for whatever reason to step up and play smashmouth football lately, and it has hurt us.

If Riggs lives up to his potential, then I think the Vols can regain their vaunted rushing attack that has kind of disappeared since Travis Stephens left for the NFL.
